fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Well, this makes me feel a lot better at least knowing that it probably wouldn't have mattered. Thinking about it, not a great way for Torii Hunter to go out either, I think he said he's likely finished after this year as well. What Torii hunter? Twins are playing B team today 1. Byron Buxton ® CF 2. Shane Robinson ® LF 3. Max Kepler (L) RF 4. Miguel Sano ® DH 5. Kennys Vargas (S) 1B 6. Eduardo Nunez ® 3B 7. Eduardo Escobar (S) 2B 8. Eric Fryer ® C 9. Danny Santana (S) SS
Baseball Player Verified Member Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Since you know this game was like semi important. Why not see how the game is going then bring papa B if we were winning big or losing big out of the pen?
baubau Verified Member Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Maybe its me but I'd love to face KC at home first. We've beaten them there plus when they come to RC we can shout "Don't Cry Volquez" & "Nobody Ventura" plus the classic Pits "CUETTTTTTTTTTTTO CUETTTTTTTTTTTO" to send them on their way to the offseason.
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 One can argue ump kept up his professionalism despite all the sentiments going into this start by MB, but he'll likely hear about it from many people post game regardless. I'm actually surprised Gibby didn't go out there to jaw at him to get tossed there. Would have been embarrassing for Gibby to do that, IMO. Buehrle already knows this whole thing is for him. No need to draw more attention to it by bickering with the ump.
vdubmvp Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 why is there always a guy saying "here here here" at tropicana. Everything about the rays is annoying I f***ing loathe that it sounds like they hand out insanely obnoxious noisemakers to people as they enter the stadium.
Lil Looper Verified Member Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 I would have rather have played a WC team in ALDS which is arguably more benicial than HFA. This is a meaningless statement the West division winner will have 87-88 wins, the WC winner will have 87-88 wins unless you prefer the yankees you guarantee yourself nothing
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Royals up 5-0. This game's not going to matter. Prepare for the Rangers or Astros Thursday.

What does that tell you about what Gibby thinks?
EMK19 Verified Member Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Well, cheer for the Orioles, Angels and the Astros everyone.... let's at least have the two West teams waste their pitchers/stamina for the AL West play in game and maybe also have the Yanks play the WC game away.

ComeTogether Verified Member Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Now it is a mean nothing game. Should have put Burhle on later.
JFD Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Since you know this game was like semi important. Why not see how the game is going then bring papa B if we were winning big or losing big out of the pen? that would make a lot more sense. Gibbons is dumb.
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 jesus christ the point is some were very borderline. If the ump had any class he'd give them to a guy trying to gut out 2 innings to finish his career with a milestone so you're saying the ump should cheat to help MB get to a personal milestone and completely disrespect the game?
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 None of those runs are earned its not that bad. Just sucks Goins and Edwin booted those balls
vdubmvp Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Ooh, Kershaw hit 300 strikeouts.

bronson44 Verified Member Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 so you're saying the ump should cheat to help MB get to a personal milestone and completely disrespect the game? yeah that's exactly what I was saying...

I'm actually surprised Gibby didn't go out there to jaw at him to get tossed there. No one is going to question the ump, Buehrle had his chance and couldn't finish. Would anyone really want to end their career saying I could of had 200IP but the Umpire screwed me?

A WC team gets to play their ace likely in Game 3 only vs games 1 and 5. That's the advantage.

Odd that he wouldn't start on what's very likely his last MLB game.
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 yeah that's exactly what I was saying... lol just making sure I was clear on how irrational your anger was.
FireAlexAnthopoulos Verified Member Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Honestly, the playoffs can be such a crapshoot sometimes that I almost prefer not having the pressure of the best overall record and top seed.

Baseball Player Verified Member Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 I don't think I was ever this salty going into the 89, 91,92 or 93 post season. But then again I didn't have pubes then.
Governator Community Moderator Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Honestly, the playoffs can be such a crapshoot sometimes that I almost prefer not having the pressure of the best overall record and top seed. Jays probably have that expectation regardless. Highest odds to win the WS.
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 I would have rather have played a WC team in ALDS which is arguably more benicial than HFA. Counterpoint: The WC team and the West champ are interchangeable at this point. At first or second seed, the Jays still have a likelihood of seeing either the Astros or Rangers. It does eliminate the possibility of facing the struggling Yankees or light hitting Angels though. It also means a more well rested opponent too, if that one game really makes a difference in fatigue anyway (Astros won't be using Keuchel in the WC game either apparently, so the ace-in-game-3 thing is a non-factor).
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Does he have an injury? Odd that he wouldn't start on what's very likely his last MLB game. Nope. I guess they just wanted to play the kids
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 So if Texas loses and Houston wins they have to play an extra game and the Jays get the winner...lets hope for that and it's the same as playing a wild card, right?
