Followthelight Verified Member Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 I would love Carrasco but no way we get him now we have no prospects left to trade.
500LevelSTH Verified Member Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 lol cant believe people actually listened to Greg Zaun Being a catcher... And a world series winner. His experience in these types of scenarios and the inner workings of MLB teams Zaun's opinion here is valid.
LGBJ29 Verified Member Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 thats dumb. ITs not analogous at all. 1. Every other player not in the starting line up last 2 days is not a CY race. 2. Price is our #1 who pitched last Sat and wasn't great. He could be helpful is closing in AL first seed. 3. The other starters will likely be playing this week. Price won't. I don't know if he is hurt/tired arm or not. nobody here does. Hopefully just rest. Well this is gonna be easy 1. Nobody cares about individual awards when chasing a World Series 2. Check Price's previous starts vs Tampa and get back to me 3. Dickey only went 5 yesterday and Price is throwing a sim game tomorrow
Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 I hope we do something to screw up Trouba's perfect plan. Maybe if Texas wins he will just commit suicide so we all win in the end. That's such a douchey thing to say.
Markus2222 Verified Member Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 What do you guys think it would take to acquire Carrasco in the off-season? Could we get it done if JD, JB, Edwin, Travis, Stroman, Osuna, Alford, and Vlad Jr are off-limits? I don't know who they would want in return....I doubt we would have enough to give to get it done if we're not including any of the players you listed.

Being a terrible analyst, and a known talking out of ass-er, its easy to see situations when you can take his word/opinion with a grain of salt
THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 Sanchez Goins and Pillar I would do that in a heart beat, but I doubt that would do it. Pillar, Osuna, Travis & more Damn. Considering what we gave up for Donaldon, would Carrasco cost less or more? Would a package similar to this get it done: Carlos Carrasco for Pillar, Sanchez, Pompey, Greene and Urena
Governator Community Moderator Posted October 1, 2015 Author Posted October 1, 2015 Any ETA on resume?
Pulk_Pull Verified Member Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 The idea that Price cares more about a single game contributing to his Cy Young chance than resting and being fully prepared for a deep postseason run is laughable. Even if he did, why the hell would the Blue Jays care about it? Price has thrown a ton of innings. Jays are guaranteed at least a 5 game set. Get everyone ready.
intrigid Verified Member Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 Can someone explain something to me? Who has been announced as Friday's starter? If it's TBD, then why are we overlooking the (fairly obvious) possibility that it's Price? Because honestly that makes way more sense than putting him out there today.
Markus2222 Verified Member Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 IDK, Price seemed pretty upbeat yesterday for a guy who's hurt enough to miss a start. I know they were all happy about winning the east but I never got the sense that anything was wrong. Hard to say as I don't know the guy personally haha

He also had bad numbers against the Yankees before and didn't pitch that way for us. Whats your point? 3. 5 IP in a live game against Davis and Machado et al is not the same as a simulated game. If you believe it is there is no point in talking to you.
Effit Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 Mets announcers sticking it to Philly fans. First made fun of having to deal with two giggling girls, then called another loud fan an idiot. lol

Followthelight Verified Member Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 MLB should let the jays forfeit this game.

Come back to me with actual knowledge next time Edit: you know what, cause its a slow work day ill take the time to put you in your place 1. Ill refer to my fellow poster Pulk_Pull and let you soak it in "The idea that Price cares more about a single game contributing to his Cy Young chance than resting and being fully prepared for a deep postseason run is laughable. Even if he did, why the hell would the Blue Jays care about it?" Dream on son 2. Not sure how you failed to comprehend this one. My point is, one bad start out of 11, against a team he's been bad against in his previous starts is hardly cause for concern. Keep up 3. When did I say it was the same? Its about getting your work in and keeping your arm healthy. You can control a sim game much more than a real one. That includes amount of pitches in an inning, batters faced (L v R), and work on certain pitches in certain situations without having to stress about results. If YOU don't understand that, theres no point in talking to you anymore. FYSMC

500LevelSTH Verified Member Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 Go back and watch Barry Davis interview with Price. Yes Price is somewhat annoyed with Barrys question about Toronto selling him on staying... But... Davis: arent you glad you dont have to start tomorrow? Price: Yeah. It would be tough. (And touches his left shoulder)

Inklink Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 I think they're saving Price for the wildcard game. See, Bautista brought his go pro onto the field in his pocket in game 1 yesterday. MLB will make the game result invalid as a result and NYY will be awarded the division. Jays get WC game and Price will pitch. -inklink95
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 ok go take a peak now big boy. Edited it for ya Look...I haven't read your response but I'm calling truce. Ive been waiting 22 years to be in this situation and I'm not interesting in duelling message board scraps. Just want to talk ball and be a Jays fan with other similarly obsessed fans. I think you a good poster and will leave it at that.

intrigid Verified Member Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 OK never mind my question. I found the article where gibbons said he wants to give price extended rest for the ALDS so he's shutting him down. Dear god good luck trying to find an actual useful piece of information on this message board amongst all the rabble. This is why I have less than 20 posts in 2 years coming here every day.

Considering what we gave up for Donaldon, would Carrasco cost less or more? Would a package similar to this get it done: Carlos Carrasco for Pillar, Sanchez, Pompey, Greene and Urena Carrasco costs more because he's young, very good and controllable. Donaldson is different in that he is heading past his prime years and will be very expensive arbitration wise. We had a deal for Carrasco that fell apart that was centered around Hoffman, Norris + one more (Pompey I believe) and it was scrapped at the last minute.
