LGBJ29 Verified Member Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 Go back and watch Barry Davis interview with Price. Yes Price is somewhat annoyed with Barrys question about Toronto selling him on staying... But... Davis: arent you glad you dont have to start tomorrow? Price: Yeah. It would be tough. (And touches his left shoulder) lmao clearly referring to the hangover. People just determined to look too far into this I see
LGBJ29 Verified Member Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 Look...I haven't read your response but I'm calling truce. Ive been waiting 22 years to be in this situation and I'm not interesting in duelling message board scraps. Just want to talk ball and be a Jays fan with other similarly obsessed fans. I think you a good poster and will leave it at that. Fair enough, maybe I just realllly don't wanna believe Price is hurt. (Still don't think he is) No hard feelings man, Go Jays!
Followthelight Verified Member Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 Someone hold Trouba, price being hurt rumours he might jump off a bridge.

THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 Sanchez Goins and Pillar Carrasco costs more because he's young, very good and controllable. Donaldson is different in that he is heading past his prime years and will be very expensive arbitration wise. We had a deal for Carrasco that fell apart that was centered around Hoffman, Norris + one more (Pompey I believe) and it was scrapped at the last minute. Carrasco is 28, same age Donaldson was when he was traded to us. He also has been in the league since he was 22, and only became good in 2014. Before 2014 he was a bullpen arm with an FIP above 4 every year and K/9 around 6. I think he would cost less than Donaldson, especially considering that his non-peripheral stats are likely going to diminish the fair value that his DIPS suggest he's worth. Also, Hoffman, Norris, and Pompey nearly getting it done at the trade deadline when Cleveland still were competitive, in their minds, means it should cost less in the off-season with 1/2 year less of control attached, and 1/2 year older. With all that said, do you think my offer of Pillar, Sanchez, Pompey, and Greene could actually get it done? I honestly believe it could even cost less given what AA has pulled off in the past.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 Hard to see this game getting going..... Just forfeit it and get to Tbay

He's like that guy who thinks he's part of the in crowd but is really just there for everyone to make fun of.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 Watching the 1992 ALCS on Sportsnet right now.. wow, the O.co looked like a decent stadium back then. Damn Raiders forcing Mt. Davis on it...

KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 Despite their recent struggles, the Raiders are a much more historic franchise then the A's. That's debattable. Both were great franchises in the 70s and 80s.

Thanks. Im going to agree with you on that. I hope and don't think he is...still find the move curious. We will all know soon enough.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 That's debattable. Both were great franchises in the 70s and 80s. Weren't the Raiders in Los Angeles back then? When they moved to Oaklnd, the o.Co was wrecked badly. Now it looks awful.. but still better than the Trop.
Followthelight Verified Member Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 That's debattable. Both were great franchises in the 70s and 80s. The A's are not near iconic as the Raiders, it's not even close, the raiders even after 10 years of suck are consistently in the top 3 of selling merchandise, and are still one of the winningest franchises in sports history, and that's amazing when you think of how bad they have been the last decade. It's not just winning, the Raiders were a far more popular brand then the A's in the sports landscape. They need a new stadium badly though prob move back to LA again lol.

The A's go all the way back to 1901. They've had a rich history including but not limited to their 70s peak.
Followthelight Verified Member Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 Yeah but that's not what you said. You said the Raiders were more historic. The A's go all the way back to 1901. 500LevelSTH Verified Member Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 The A's didnt have Al Davis, love him or hate him he was a pioneer and great sports personality. Moving the franchise is part of what makes the Raiders history so rich in its own unique fashion.
