Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 Man, can this game go any slower? We want to clinch already! Savour it, boys! We're about to clinch the AL East. About to take a 2 game lead on the Royals...and are beating on the O's 8-0...in Baltimore...where their fans can suck a big hairy dick. Life is good. Don't wish for it to go by quickly.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 91-92 max...even in his best years. He could touch 94-95 when he came up in the late 80's. But quickly changed his approach.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2015 Author Posted September 30, 2015 Stroman's two-seamer is UNREAL today, he's front-dooring it with like 10 inches of movement.

If I wasn't 50 and a technological chimpanzee If be able to navigate fangraphs V charts easier. Looking on it. not sure the records were even very good back then though.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 I wonder if we can beat them with our AAA lineup. With home field advantage still on the line I still hope they would do everything to try to win including pinch hitting and using key relievers. Yeah, using a drunk EE or Bautista to pinch hit for Smoak late in the game would still be a thousand times better.

Looking on it. not sure the records were even very good back then though. I checked...only back to 2007 in Fangraphs..when he was 41...but his max fastball that year his 94. And maybe my memory isn't what it used to be, but when he was with the Cubs, I'm convinced he could touch 95.

Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 When people talk about Sanchez's ceiling, this is it.
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 So this is what it looked like when Stroman was in Lansing
Followthelight Verified Member Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 Stroman looks dominant wow.

Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 If only he had anywhere near the command of Stroman. I'm sure Alex will turn Sanchez into something nice. If Shapiro pushes him to because we know AA loves him
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 Here's something... http://www.baseballprospectus.com/article.php?articleid=19173 Thanks. Deneke may be right. I watched him a lot and mostly I remember 89-91 ....always on the corners...and movement on everything with a wicked comeback FB to RHH.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 If only he had anywhere near the command of Stroman. I'm sure Alex will turn Sanchez into something nice. Sanchez is also miles away from having Stroman's repertoire. The former has one plus (sometimes plus-plus) and an average pitch with plus potential, while the latter has something like 6 plus pitches with at least half being plus-plus on an average start.
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 chicken wing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

crederer Verified Member Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 There should be a mercy rule on double header games. Up by ten in the seventh? Call her a game, lads.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 It really doesn't mean anything but id love to see Jose get 40....giving him 3 40 HR seasons. (with one 54 mixed in booyah)
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 Haha. AA's been smiling all day......as he should.
