IBTrini Verified Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 After tonight we'll be either 1.5 up or 3.5 up with 10 games to play. Tonight is HUGE! I could barely handle watching last nights game, and during it thought....what if this was a wild card game. Please, please, please, no wild card game! I will die! Every game from here on-wards will be huge more-so when a loss is encountered. I am hoping they will win all their games but that is not realistic which makes every game after a loss an even more important, must win game. From here to the end it will be a nail-biting, breath-holding, sitting on the edge of the chair experience. Something the Jays fans, the city, and the country too, have been waiting on for a long time. The light at the end of the tunnel seems so very bright - meaningful baseball at long last.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 I was at the game last night I'm just totally wiped today... such an emotional rollercoaster. Easily the loudest game I have ever been to. Voice is completely shot. I thought the floor was going to collapse after Navarro's HR and Hendricks striking out Arod.
Olerud363 Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Agree. Game 5 and 6 were meaningless. ???? whuttt???? Only in retrospect... Every world series game is meaningful. To put it in perspective leading the world series 3-1 is like having a 2 game lead with 3 to play... of course it is meaningful Leading 3-2 is a 1 game lead with 2 to play.... Losing tonight will mean we have 1.5 game lead with 10 to go... losing game 6 would mean facing Schilling with no tomorrow.
reedjohnsonfan Verified Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 It was the loudest, craziest baseball game I've ever been to. The floor was literally shaking. I was there Monday. My beer can was literally shaking for half of the game.
Olerud363 Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 I don't mean this question to invoke hyperbole. I was thinking about this on the way to work this morning. The question is quite simple: has there been a more crucial game in the past 20 years than this. It is the most important ever played for any franchise, in any sport in the history of planet earth. If we win the Jays are the team of destiny, holding an insurmountable 3.5 game lead, led by Ace David Price, and the best young pitcher in the game, the Stro-show. The increased revenue from the playoffs will enable us to sign Price, Stro-show will have proven himself healthy and the best young guy in baseball. The record over the next 4 years will be 400-248 If we lose the Jays have collapsed, sold the farm for nothing. Stro show will have proven he doesn't have what it takes, the Bird and Severino will lead the yanks to a subway series against Syndergard and the Mets, Price will join the Yankees next year, and the jays record over the next 4 years will be 248 and 400. It is a 150 game swing over 4 years, a franchise and life changiing game for every single one of us... this is it, this is everything, this will determine not only this pennant race, but the next 4 or 5. My god... if we lose I will burn every signle piece of Blue Jays crap I have and never watch a baseball game again in my life. If we win I will be partially confident that everything will be ok (but as soon as we lose one to Tampa Bay I will panic again).
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Me too. I barely have my voice today. And I'm going tonight...! I'm there tonight too - can't wait...ready to get on that rollercoaster!
West Texas Forever Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 After tonight the Jays will have 10 games left, the Yankees will have 11. I think the Jays win tonight, Stroman is ready for this and will pitch a gem. That would leave the Jays 3.5 games up on the Yanks. The Jays should win 2 of 3 against the Rays at home, 3 of 4 in Baltimore and 1 of 3 in Tampa that would total 6 wins. Yanks will probably take 3 of 4 against the White Sox, 2 of 4 against Boston and 2 of 3 against Baltimore that would total 7 wins. So by the end of the season the Jays should finish 93 - 69 and the Yankees should finish 91-71 leaving the Jays winning the American League East by 2 games. Should be a wild finish.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Do you think this is what Stro Show wanted when he told everyone he was coming back for September. I am pumped we have waited for games like this. Hell yes this is what he wanted http://cdn.newsday.com/polopoly_fs/1.8464901.1402949080!/httpImage/image.JPG_gen/derivatives/display_600/image.JPG http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-IrGnW0jD-WU/Vf1o8k38EYI/AAAAAAAAKPw/1zcAAEg5DN4/s400/Stroman%2BPumped.jpg http://bbstmlb.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/stroman-getty.jpg

Having David Price for 2 more starts really helps their chances though.

Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Whoever wins tonight takes the division.

They could, but really, REALLY don't want to have to But if the Yankees slipped ahead of them by half a game over the next week I would absolutely want Gibby to do this

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Can't see that happening, they'd at least want him for the wild card game. I would do it only if it meant a better chance at AVOIDING the wild card game of course Hopefully we stay a few games out in front and it doesn't matter
Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Based on what? They have a more favourable sked. We face our kryptonite in Tampa for 6/10 games.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Yankees get 4 games next against s***** White Sox At least they finish with 4 vs Boston, who would LOVE to show them something I'm sure
Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Game 2 vs the Sox really looks bad now. Fcking bullpen.
blurnandez Verified Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 I've been to the last two games and I can hardly speak today. My voice and nerves are shot. But f*** it, I'm going tonight and am going to lose my s*** all over again. STROSHOW US THE WAY.
500LevelSTH Verified Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 An incredible atmosphere last night, standing up for most of game, the 8-9 the place was insane. Jacked for tonight, have goosebumps just thinking about it. These have been amazing crowds, even though many are just there to get blitzed. this is playoff baseball and it feels so good.
blurnandez Verified Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 What's crazy is that it's WAY louder in the Dome than it sounds on the broadcast. Definitely the loudest I've ever heard RC. It's awesome.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 They have a more favourable sked. We face our kryptonite in Tampa for 6/10 games. Thinking this is a different Rays AND Jays team...ipso facto Price USED to pitch for them...now he is OURS (for a little while longer). Cant take them lightly but this Jays team is far superior to the Rays. If we execute we will W 4/6 against them.

Definitely the loudest I've ever heard RC. It's awesome. Cant wait to be there Fri, Sat Sun for the Rays. Worth a trip from Calgary. Just cant miss this. My 7 old is bouncing off the walls to be live at the games. That game last night was epic, result aside.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 And the Yanks are sending Nova out to the mound instead of Tanaka.. had Tanaka pitched this game, they'd be favored to win. Unfortunately, NL rules where pitchers bat caused Tanaka to injure himself.. which means Nova better pray for a good game tonight. If New York loses tonight, the Yanks AL East hopes go right out the window, as the Jays remaining schedule is very favorable, with an out of contention (and very tired) Rays team, a bad O's team, then the Rays at the stadium that needs to be condemned in St. Pete. Yanks get the White Sox (facing 3 lefties including Sale and Rodon), the Red Sox (tough series) and the Orioles.

I agree with every word you said but just letting y'all know why the audio isn't as loud on the broadcast.

Please parent your child at the game, nothing is worse than being at a game and some nose picking ankle-biter running around, yelling and eating candy without watching the game. Children are the worst.

Tampa has not been the same team since the All-Star Break, going 27-33, as the bullpen overusage caught up to them, and they still aren't hitting (lowest scoring team in AL). And their offense is well below replacement level, as only Kiermaier, Forsythe and Longoria are the only threats in the lineup.
