They are 70-75 now. They need to go 7-10 or worse for the rest of the year for this to happen. I'd love to see it because:

1. They are done with the Yankees and play the Jays 6 more times so there is absolutely no reason for them to win another game this year.

2. The Rays suck, and the people on here who supposedly support that condemned team mostly to rustle the jimmies of other posters on here need to be made aware of this.

3. I remember in a thread earlier this year about win totals, TwistedLogic absolutely took it up the ass from several posters on here because he had some sort of a "gut feel" that a Rays under bet was a good one, when the stat heads clearly argued otherwise (and the poor return on the over bet relative to under was an indication the public felt that way too). I would find TL's long-winded, drawn-out rubbing of egg on the face of those individuals if he turned out to be right to be a source of entertainment on this board. Hope he put some money where his mouth is because I recall the under 77 wins bet was +110 or something which is about the best odds you'll ever get betting on O/U season wins.

I don't think they support the Rays to merely rustle jimmies.

They support the Rays because they like to cheer for front offices rather than the players on the field. So they'd rather cheer for a s***** team like the Rays because they like the sabremetric friendly front office over the Jays who don't cling as tightly to advanced stats.

IMO it is where the cult of the GM goes wrong. Andrew Friedman isn't a god; he's one of thousands who could do a good job of being a GM if given a chance. I bet if you could get some people from this board out of their mom's basement they could even do a good job.

Friedman isn't nearly as talented at putting together a team as Josh Donaldson (one of the top 3 players in the world) is at playing baseball. It's not even close. Yet the majority of Rays fans on this board don't see it this way.

There was also a bit of bandwagoning going on as the Rays were good and the Jays weren't. But now it's flipped which is kind of hilarious as the hometown Jays might win the World Series and they'll be left out (unless they jump back on).

BTS' is a Jays fan, he does like well run FO's, don't be fooled by his rustling jimmies jargon with strictly the Rays, now Hurl, yeah, he isn't a fan or our FO at all.

As a mod I seriously think that this thread is obviously troll bait...but I'm going to ask the rest of the mods to keep it open, and I will prepare my response when I have more time (which may be December)

Watching the Rays' offense is like watching a child shake pennies out of his piggy bank to buy an ice cream cone.

Couple that with their cemetery of a ballpark and watching a Rays game is like being in purgatory. I respect their FO too but the team itself is anti-fun.

Only 2 of the 3 reasons could be seen as troll bait. Jays fans have a legit interest in seeing this team lose for at least 6 of their last 17 games. Plus the Orioles Hangout thread was allowed to continue for 50 pages. The only difference is the Orioles have a fan base which post on another webpage while the Rays' total fan base comprises of a couple of people who post here.

And discussing team O/U win totals is a legit topic. The Jays are already at their total of 83. Where are the Rays and their -130 odds of over 77 wins? Not looking too hot right now.

Rays' offence only seems to come alive versus us, doesn't it...

The last time the Jays played the Rays the team had an AAAA starting rotation. Let's see how successful they are against Price, Stroman and Dickey who learned to pitch again since then.

The rays are a model franchise..my god some.of you guys are hurt hurt. You can't win 85+ games every year with a bottom 3 payroll. If they were in the NL 90% of the posters would love them just as much as the pirates ate praised around here. It is allowed to support more than your hometown franchise

They're a great organization. Just completely unfun to watch.

I don't hate the Rays at all and when the Jays are out of it they are one of the teams I'll root for in the playoffs.

If they were in a beautiful park there'd be nothing to complain about.

Being a frugally run org. is interesting to watch because the team squeezes talent out of some unlikely players.

I don't understand why there isn't more love or appreciation thrown around baseball for FO's, teams, players....etc

Too funny when an opposing player makes a tremendous defensive play at the RC and Jays fans actually boo the play.

Does this happen? From my experience even the casuals you hate can appreciate a good defensive play.

From my experiences I've seen the exact opposite, one example I remember when Kiermaier made a terrific play back in T.O. the game after the opener and people just booed.

It could be either way. I went to a couple of games in the last month and they seemed to cheer. I hate casuals half as much as gibbers, but they're not always extremely stupid despite what you guys think.

I doubt it. Most people here are Jays fans, they don't give a f*** about the rest of baseball.

Edit: Rays will not win 85 games this season. They also lost 85 games last season, what you talking about?

Serious question. Would you vote for Trump if you were American?

WTF do you expect from the hometown crown? Did you honestly expect them to cheer on Kiermaier? Seriously?

I must admit, I'm pleasantly surprised with your response to this question.

Anti-vaxer, Obama birther... do you really think that's BTS? The only thing they have in common is the mouth.

Why?

1. No American should vote Trump.

2. No Canadian should encourage Americans to vote Trump.

3. You rarely agree with the majority.

Well 1. and 2. are obviously true, I was just wondering what I could have possibly said to have me pegged as a Trump supporter.
