vdubmvp Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2016 Posted April 7, 2016 Too bad they didn't do dirt for the warning tracks and stuff too. Yeah, that it a little weird, but I assume there were time constraints, since it was just finished in time for the opener. Though maybe they also want to see if they like the infield first before making further changes.

Here's another shot from Sportsnet: http://assets2.sportsnet.ca/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/rogers_centre-1040x572.jpg http://www.sportsnet.ca/baseball/mlb/blue-jays-complete-construction-new-dirt-infield/ Not badddddd, I wish I could get out to Toronto and watch a game but damn flights are expensive. Also Jays don't play in Seattle till middle of the week in September .
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2016 Posted April 7, 2016 How does that look dangerous to you? You're a hundred plus feet away from the field, you cannot see the dirt and turf area touch one another. The turf is under the dirt by 3+ inches and this style of field is common in Asia where I imagine the Jays organization did their due diligence to make sure that this is as safe as the previous field. Pretty sure he's joking/mocking the other posters who kept saying it looked dangerous

I've spent too much time on reddit's /r/torontobluejays and the frustration of dealing with the bandwaggoners there is bleeding through.

He was making fun of Jonn: Nothing about this looks or sounds right. It looks dangerous. I would have to see the finished product. It just looks like it could have some problems.

Cyborg Verified Member Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 If you really want something at the ballpark as a treat, just get an icecap. Everything else is 300% more than it should be.
Rusty_Savage Verified Member Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 We were gonna head to NY for a series but have decided on Toronto. Gonna head to the Astros series in August.
