G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted April 7, 2016 Posted April 7, 2016 borrow mine for a bottle of rum This seems just wrong on so many levels. Lol
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2016 Posted April 7, 2016 I wish we could get rid of the advertisements on the OF wall. Otherwise - looks pretty good.
ValiantJaysFan Verified Member Posted April 7, 2016 Posted April 7, 2016 The white boy is the boss; the black and Mexican are slaves. I love the stereotypes. And he's wearing a Skyrim shirt, likely from Whiterun and these are his slaves. If anyone gets that I'll be impressed.

I'm not buying a s***** Acer computer because the have a sign up on the wall at Rogers Centre. Get rid of them.

Get rid of them. There are a lot of people that will. If there weren't, companies wouldn't be shelling out the cash they do to put their ads there.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2016 Posted April 7, 2016 This seems just wrong on so many levels. Lol Not really. Smart actually. You'll be baby sitting for him, while ALSO paying him.

Christ the general population is stupid. Look hun, there's a picture on a wall. I should buy that. It must be good.

I think a lot of it has to do with the mentality of you "you see these guys everywhere they must be good". And its sad but a lot of people think that if they don't advertise they must not be worth it then.

Well it's about getting the name out. If you needed to buy a phone, who are the first companies to come to mind? Probably Apple and Samsung, two companies that spend f***loads on advertising.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted April 7, 2016 Posted April 7, 2016 OK that's the best picture yet Looks really good
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2016 Posted April 7, 2016 That's so awesome. Pretty amazing how simply ditching the cutouts adds so much to the park.
Sorrow Verified Member Posted April 7, 2016 Posted April 7, 2016 That looks so dangerous How does that look dangerous to you? You're a hundred plus feet away from the field, you cannot see the dirt and turf area touch one another. The turf is under the dirt by 3+ inches and this style of field is common in Asia where I imagine the Jays organization did their due diligence to make sure that this is as safe as the previous field.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2016 Posted April 7, 2016 Beauty. Massive step in the right direction.

He was being facetious. Plenty of people in this thread said it looks dangerous, guys would get injured, etc... especially that meathead who's posted above me.

It's a lot more subtle then that. Brand recognition influences consumer choices and not necessarily on a conscious level.
flafson Verified Member Posted April 7, 2016 Posted April 7, 2016 I still believe they should make the dirt base paths wider, looks kinda small to me. No idea why it's such a big deal, the less of the turf you have the better anyway.

Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2016 Posted April 7, 2016 Too bad they didn't do dirt for the warning tracks and stuff too. Here's another shot from Sportsnet: http://assets2.sportsnet.ca/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/rogers_centre-1040x572.jpg http://www.sportsnet.ca/baseball/mlb/blue-jays-complete-construction-new-dirt-infield/
