If we were to win the division, right now it's likely that we'll go up against the 'stros. In a best of five and with their starting rotation (Keuchel, McCullers, McHugh, Kazmir, Fiers) not to mention Altuve, Correa, Springer (assuming he'll be back), I am wondering that's a "non ideal" match up for us. Whereas if we are in the wildcard and assuming we win it (which granted is a big "if"), we are now matched up against the Royals. With some of the more recent struggles the Royals have had, both in SP and bullpen, that might not be a bad match-up for us.

I guess what I am saying is that going into a 5 game series, the 'stros are the scarier team to me and I'd rather take my chances against the Royals.

What do you guys think?

Astros. I'll take my chances against two lefties (albeit two pretty good ones) and a team that strikes out as much as anyone in the league.

Price, Stroman, Hutch.

Jays (with home field advantage) vs Astros in DCS

And then Jays vs Royals in ALCS would be epic

And then Jays vs Cubs

You it will be against the Mets and game 7 at home will be Dickey vs. Synder.

Its been more than 20 years. I want to win the division and make the playoffs.

Once/If we are in anything can happen. I don't care who we play.

KC's pitching really doesn't scare me at all. I think we could put up some crooked numbers against that staff. Cueto has looked pretty ordinary since coming to the AL and Volquez and Ventura are both massive douchebags with pretty average numbers who I think we could really feast on by getting them off their game and having them more concerned about throwing at us than winning the series.

That's it

We can get 5-6 innings into a game with a sizeable lead against KC. Then their bullpen doesn't matter as much. Only ours does and it's solid now.

How bout we worry about the division/wildcard game first lol.... I have been a Fan for a long time and i have experienced a lot of kick in the ball sack.

I feel like the Royals are the kind of team that would throw at Donaldson's hands just before getting eliminated.

Cueto, Volquez, Herrera, Ventura. All hot heads.

Or in game 1 of the ALCS. I am legitimately concerned that the Royals will intentionally throw at JD, JB, Tulo or EE.

Avenging 1985, thirty years after the fact would be awesome. Bean balls not so much though I think even the Royals would prefer not to start a bean ball war in the post-season.

Matchups doesn't matter all that much. Royals got to the WS with shields pitching like crap and relying on Guthrie lol.

I'll take the Astros though because losing to the royals would be unbearable.

Dude, you can't pick your opponent based on who you'd rather lose to? That's what's called loser talk. Pick who you'd want to beat.

Look, I would be happy if they beat either team obviously, but if they were to lose I would be less unhappy if it was against the stros, that's all.

That would be risky for them. Chance those guys get hurt while being thrown at is pretty low, but I think MLB might be pretty quick with a suspension because of the reputation they have this year and the fact it would obviously be on purpose.

Ump may also not give any warning on an ejection = getting to their pen quickly in game 1. I would imagine that stuff shows up later in the series
