Governator Community Moderator Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 Their customer service opens at noon, I'll call for answers.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 Fox, etc. own national broadcast rights, so the games are all blacked out on MLB.tv in the postseason. IIRC there is some functionality still. You can watch the games live from various cameras of your choice, but there is no commentary and there are no graphics. It's just a video feed, no replays, mediocre quality. Not a terrible option if you can somehow get radio in your ears and synced up to the feed... Should be easy enough to get around that since there are no blackouts outside Canada and the US.
Ehjays Verified Member Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 I'm betting we don't get 1.36 on the dollar with the refund you might get more if the dollar goes down

I was under the impression that because of the blackout, MLB.tv just doesn't even carry playoff games. But you might be right, if we all ride our bikes to o2's house in Sveden we can probably log in and watch Kansas City sweep Toronto with lots of buntz and hitnruns.

Speaking of blackouts, did mlb.tv change their policy? I've been getting Jays games just fine and not having to bother with a VPN

youngtea Verified Member Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 Just wondering why some of you guys just don't stream. I've streamed about 10-15 jays game this season through the MLBstreams subreddit and I've always found a HD link.

RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 Rogers anyplace TV working very well for me

MLB.tv is great, every game all season, don't ever have to worry about finding a stream and you can watch on the go.

Yea the multiple devices anywhere quickly is just great. The best feature though is getting to watch the game using the alternate Fan590 audio feed (or opposing team's feeds). Watching the game with Jerry calling it is really awesome, that is until Wilner shows up for a couple innings. FYI - Called MLB Support, they are complete tools and don't know anything. He assumes we get up to 30% off, 10% each. Not that I care about a couple bucks, it's the principal at this point, they will call me with a follow up later.

bronson44 Verified Member Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 Just a reminder to those who signed up for this and don't want it auto renewed Go to mlb.com, log-in, go to audio/video subscriptions and cancel auto-renewal subscription (you can still watch the WS.)
CHRIS Verified Member Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 Thanks for the reminder. As much as I enjoy it, I'll need to see if it's still blackout free next season before signing up again.
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted November 15, 2015 Posted November 15, 2015 BUMP. remember to cancel guys
nmrch Verified Member Posted November 15, 2015 Posted November 15, 2015 I signed up in May using a targeted offer for around 50 something for the whole season. Right now i'm not seeing the cancel auto renewal button. Here's what my audio/video subscriptions page says Subscription Status Your 2015 MLB.TV Premium Yearly subscription is active Your MLB.TV Premium Yearly subscription will not automatically renew prior to the beginning of LIVE Spring Training games, on or about February 28, 2016 at the previous year's regular full yearly price The regular full yearly price of 2015 MLB.TV Premium Yearly is $129.99 If you wish to cancel your subscription, click below but i don't see a button Anyone else having the same problem? Maybe i'll email CS and make sure that my subscription won't be renewing automatically, i've been burned before with MLB.TV for not remembering to cancel before the deadline
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 I won't have it for the first time since MLB.tv came on air. I have said I will only pay a certain amount for the year and it's now gone way past that. with the current exchange rate and the 25% tax EU put on all sports subscription packages from the states, it's just way past what I'm going to pay. a 26 percent swing in currency exchange and a 25% tax on top of it.... I'll have to hope there are good free streams all next year too. It went from 839:- Crowns to 1580:- Crowns from 129 dollars to 161.... that's what I paid for my trip to Rome.

If you really like the service is $40 really that much of a difference? Thats less than a 1 coffee a week at a coffee shop.
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 If you really like the service is $40 really that much of a difference? Thats less than a 1 coffee a week at a coffee shop. $40 for the tax added and then a 26% increase for currency difference on the whole amount. at the old currency exchange 1580:- would be $243 and I was paying $129. so for my pocketbook that's an 88% increase so it's not just $40 and I really can't stand coffee. lol
AdamLindsMom Verified Member Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 I've been a subscriber since about 2005 I think and next year will be my first year without it at least from the start. I have another grey market subscription service where I get all sports for $10 a month and run it through a kodi add-on. Some things are in HD like NFL and EPL but most baseball games are in SD (which is still better than cable/satellite sd). I think I can live with that until at least May/June when they start adding rest of year packages for $50.
