Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 Seems like the author is trying to force a racial aspect to the Blue Jays season. They're a good team and don't really play with more "swag" than other teams like the Orioles and Royals. What are they talking about Bau Pimps a homerun better than anyone.

dbyrks Verified Member Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 Haha, I remember that. To be fair he is damn good at earning walks and is probably proud of how he is able to lay off those balls that are just barely out of the zone. He still whines a bit too much but I feel like he has earned the respect of the umps and the rest of the league (as came out in that poll earlier this month) with his eye. That being said, if Bautista was on any other team we would all hate him. He's entertaining as hell to watch on the Jays though!
LTR Verified Member Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 Strange article. I know there's an ethnic-angle to it but not a single mention of Donaldson who's been hands-down our best player.
LTR Verified Member Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 The Black Jays The white guy leads the pack.
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 Baseball has always been a backwards sports though. It's acceptable for a pitcher to bean a guy ( as long as it's not near the head) with a 95MPH fastball, which still f***ing hurts, but god forbid a batter show emotion when he comes up with a huge homerun.
BlueBirdBro Verified Member Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 Everyone was saying similar things about KC and now they're villains. Will postseason success result in the league hating us? Obviously we don't have the same shitheads they do, but it's curious to see what prolonged success does to a lovable underdog team.
