jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2015 Posted August 1, 2015 Yup. Mark Lowe has been very good. Just couldn't get it done today. Pen has been used alot the last couple games, we didn't have the luxury of pulling Lowe early Exactly. Just can't keep burning up the pen every night.. plus Lowe was the freshest arm we had. Thank goodness tomorrow is the last time we face them..
nextyear Verified Member Posted August 1, 2015 Posted August 1, 2015 Ben Revere is way better than Carrera. Don't be swayed by one game. This is baseball FFS Check the stats, Ben Revere isn't a player that knocks in many runs. He will likely score his fair share of runs because of his speed but I can see him being pinch hit for quite often if the Blue Jays need an RBI late in a game. I think Martin should have pinch hit for Revere. They would have needed to shuffle the fielders but they would have had a better chance of tying it.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2015 Posted August 1, 2015 There was no problem with bringing in Lowe to start the inning. Don't you think he may have been left in a little longer than he should have been? We have an 8 man pen right now. How come Cecil or Loup weren't ready to face Hosmer and Morales? Ask Gibbons? This guy has served up 4 er's all year, it's baseball man, s*** happens. Beurhle had a hiccup in the 6th and the pen s*** the bed, it happens.
nextyear Verified Member Posted August 1, 2015 Posted August 1, 2015 The good thing is that if the Blue Jays win on Sunday then they have David Price on Monday.
SantosLHalper21 Verified Member Posted August 1, 2015 Posted August 1, 2015 So much idiocy in this comment What is idiotic about it dipshit? Lowe was not the freshest arm the Jays had if you include getting dealt the day prior. Buerhle probably could've been left in there further seeing as how he was at 90 pitches and we still had Hawkins and Loup who were fresher arms. As for Tulo at DH, if you want to give him a day off defensively..fine, but you need that bat in the lineup. Same goes for Edwin, he could've played 1B today and given swing and miss Smoak a rest. But again...I'm the idiot? Beat it meat
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2015 Posted August 1, 2015 Why did DannyV get sent down? WTF this org hurts itself over and over with idiocy. Valencia was getting by with an inflated BABIP, plus his defensive value sucks. He's below average at 3B and LF defensively. Now that Revere is here, we have no place for him to play.

I'm just trying to make the point that Gibby wasn't nearly as proactive as he needed to be in that situation. Sleeping at the wheel man and it's unacceptable.

Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2015 Posted August 1, 2015 Really sad. Good team managed by a manager who doesn't have clue what he's doing.

Hosmer and Morales hit weak grounders that got through. It happens, this is baseball. The bullpen has been used alot lately so why not use Lowe? Yes I agree Tulo should have been in the lineup, but management seems to think he needed a day off. I think management knows their players a bit better than we do. Smoak at 1st and Edwin DH is adequate.

I don't care that he's an adult....if that's the case and you're using that as an excuse, Tulo's an adult and should know how to take care of himself, then he didn't need the day off either. Sometimes you have to think of the crap a guy has went through the past 24 hours and put that into consideration. I have no problem using Lowe today...just not in a high leverage situation. Let him get his feet wet with a new organization in a pressure free situation first. Management also thought it was a good idea to have Cecil as a closer, have Castro as a closer as a 20 year old, have Loup as a late inning arm to face righties and lefties, and who can forget our 5th starter slot...I think management knows the players about as well as we do frankly, possibly worse.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2015 Posted August 1, 2015 rayjays with 5 reasons why the O's are in trouble in 3,2,1..... Shut up. You also realize they have to play the Twins too in August, right? And they've got a west coast road trip coming up. Angels are in a tough stretch right now too.. and have to play the O's and Jays this month.
BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2015 Posted August 1, 2015 Guys Guys Relax it is what it is... Before this week and even today nobody would be mad at a spilt and we still have a chance at a series win against one of the best teams in baseball this year!

BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2015 Posted August 1, 2015 Also this Danny v talk is over the top, danny v will not be the difference between making the playoffs and a WS title ! But with that said, Free Pompey for f*** Sakes and the debate ends!

Gibbons is handicapping our team by not using our best players in the opening lineup. We need our best men in there every game when we are fighting for a playoff spot. AA got us the players and this moron isn't using them.

JaysAllMighty Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2015 Posted August 1, 2015 No but Mark Lowe probably will be, already lost us one game in the standings... I warned everybody that he's not good, nobody listened. So being banned last night wasn't enough. f*** you're annoying.

If you use that logic then I doubt Tulo makes it to the playoffs. A day or two a week off keeps his bat and glove on the field. He's not exactly a horse. I'd rather Tulo healthy and playing 80% of the time then on the DL.
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2015 Posted August 1, 2015 Sometimes, this team makes you think it will just find enough ways to lose to blow their chances at making the playoffs.

Chill I guess Gibby should get a lie detector machine in the pen and ask the dude coming in if he's gonna s*** the bed, then go ask the other teams batters if they are going to hit off him, everytime, before he makes any moves! Lol
BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2015 Posted August 1, 2015 f***ing armchair mangers hind sight is 20/20 that is all ! f*** off if you don't like it! Lol
