Followthelight Verified Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 That's a pretty horrible return for Revere, although i am glad for once the fat greek did not get us ripped off For once? Did you see the travis trade?
JaysFan4Ever Verified Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 They must have been desperate to move him for some reason. Blue Jays said no so they came back willing to do what the Blue Jays want. Now that kind of has me a bit scared. Unless they're going into a cost cutting mode and are afraid of his arbitration numbers, I hope it's not injury risk or regression risk. But hey, we've got him and he can contribute now and in the future one way or another (even traded later on) so I'm not going to complain.
JaysFan4Ever Verified Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 I like how we replaced Reyes speed with a faster runner in a position of need. No more f***ing Colabello or Carrera in LF. No more Carerra peroid! THAT alone is worth the trade. No more watching Danny V lose a ball in foul ground that almost hits him in the face leading to a run with the next pitch.
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 this is a damn good team wow No longer a negative nelly? haha
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 That's a pretty horrible return for Revere, although i am glad for once the fat greek did not get us ripped off only one deal did he get ripped off in awhile
JaysFan4Ever Verified Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 So, any word on if any of the new guys will be available for tonight's game?
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 That's a pretty horrible return for Revere, although i am glad for once the fat greek did not get us ripped off He doesn't really get ripped off does he? The Dickey trade is a bad ripoff, perhaps Cordero-Napoli too? I think most people just hate his philosophy of building a team by trading away prospects for high priced veterans.
MagicMike Verified Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Wow thats shocking good for Gibbons. Career vs L as L wRC+ 89 vs R as L wRC+ 85 Ummm... think again?
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Career vs L as L wRC+ 89 vs R as L wRC+ 85 Ummm... think again? Unregressed splits But I'm not sure I agree with a platoon either because I'm guessing Gibby is thinking of Valencia as the platoon partner. His bat probably doesn't make up the difference between his and Revere's glove.
jays76 Verified Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 When healthy: Travis Tulo Donaldson Bautista Edwin Smoak Martin Pillar Revere I like it but I'd swap Smoak & Martin.
dbyrks Verified Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 When healthy: Travis Tulo Donaldson Bautista Edwin Smoak Martin Pillar Revere I love this lineup. Like to see Danny V in there against LHP, pompey as 4th OF. Navarro and colabello or whoever else are a useful bench. Smoak needs to bat more too!
JaysFan4Ever Verified Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 I'd assume Danny V would still start in LF against lefties replaced defensively by Revere. Which I can live with. Now that you mention it, and after reading the post someone made about Gibbons saying he'd be used more in a platoon situation, that's probably what'll happen and I'm with you in being able to live with it. Danny hasn't been horrible, but Revere is just better. Danny gets his ABs against lefties which is his thing, turn it over late in the game to Revere and he starts against righties. Not a bad thing.
Governator Community Moderator Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 The Jays are done now right? I'm all out of Kleenex.
baloojayz Verified Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Career vs L as L wRC+ 89 vs R as L wRC+ 85 Ummm... think again? He hits a lot of singles why would you look at wRC?

Sorrow Verified Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Hoping to see tepera optioned and Kawasaki recalled as well as sending down colabello to make room for Revere.
JaysFan4Ever Verified Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 The Jays are done now right? I'm all out of Kleenex. I could still see AA grabbing someone during August on waivers or a deal being announced at the last minute that they were granted extra time to finish up the details on. I might pass out if that's the case.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 I know. I've read the forum for a while now, and I just thought it would be funny. Angrioter seems to have a good sense of humor, I like his posts, and he's popular on here. I figured he would appreciate it. My favourite poster ever
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2015 Author Posted July 31, 2015 Using Revere in the ninth makes this a very good deal IMO.
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Get ready for shields if Rogers approve
JaysFan4Ever Verified Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 So, with Hawkings, Lowe, Osuna, Sanchez, Cecil, Hendricks, we basically only need 5 innings from our starters and have a good chance at those guys pitching well enough to keep the game close if we have the lead. Not bad. At least now if a starter struggles early and the pen has to take over we have more of a shut down kind of staff. Just get the lead with the offense and hopefully they can help win more one run games which might be key in some games especially down the stretch.
MagicMike Verified Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 He hits a lot of singles why would you look at wRC? lol wut
Governator Community Moderator Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Get ready for shields if Rogers approve wat
jays76 Verified Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Hoping to see tepera optioned and Kawasaki recalled as well as sending down colabello to make room for Revere. So Kawasaki can replace Reyes as cheerleader-clown on the bench to keep it fun and loose?
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 He hits a lot of singles why would you look at wRC? Hitting a lot of singles does not make you a good hitter though
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 So Kawasaki can replace Reyes as cheerleader-clown on the bench to keep it fun and loose? Kawaski should probably be up here as the back up infielder. Cola really adds nothing to the team
Sorrow Verified Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 So Kawasaki can replace Reyes as cheerleader-clown on the bench to keep it fun and loose? So that we have a back up MIF while Travis is hurt and Goins is starting, that should be beyond obvious.
