Official deal: Price for Norris, Boyd, Labourt.

Do you approve of the deal or not, given the Blue Jays position and the cost of Price.

Not a fan.

Giving up a high end talent and depth for a chance to make a one game playoff. Terrible risk for value.

Of course if they go deep into the playoffs...

AA is putting hits nuts on the chopping block for sure. I'm okay with the deal. I typically wouldn't be in favour of this type of deal, but I'm not as high on Norris as most.

Since Norris is the only top prospect, yes. If Alford was in there, no.

This is my thinking, except if it was Norris+Alford I would be indifferent. Boyd & Labourt I give zero shits about, Norris I find is overrated ranking wise.

Deal makes me uncomfortable but since I honestly believe a winning team could snowball into a much higher payroll, I am for the trade and going for it. I feel our organizational can benefit even more than most from success.

I like it; don't like losing Norris but he's still only a prospect, and the Jays have a good history of developing them under AA, so I'm sure he can reload in the draft.

It's exciting for this year but it's most definitely stupid.

If we were playing for the division it'd be okay with it, but we're not.

We're playing for an outside shot at the second WC.

Sounding like a Cards fan in 2011 here, but to me this deal really all comes down to whether we make an extended run at the playoffs or not. If all it does is get us into the one-game playoff and lose, then this deal looks awful easily.

I don't love it. I'm dissapointed that AA couldn't find some a more creative way of adding pitching than the two month rental route. The price wasn't too steep on paper but Boyd and Norris will be missed when it comes time to put together the rotation for 2016 and beyond. Trade is maybe just acceptable in my book.

Too big of a price for 10 starts. Yeah, "#FlagsFlyForever" but you could have done this for Shark, or Leake, or Ross or whoever else.

You really don't know this though. You'd like to think that Shark would have come cheaper or you could've made this deal for Ross, but sometimes GMs ask for a lot. The Rockies' asking price from the Mets for Tulo was reportedly quite ridiculous.

we are 2 games behind the twins for that second WC. I would hardly call that outside shot.

We're gonna end up like the A's from last year, blowing our load on rentals only to get f***ed by the nature of a best of 1 elimination game.

Quite possible. I guess the bright side is that at least there will be no more talk of the streak.

All I know is I'd, simultaneuously, rather have Price/Tulo over Cueto/Zobrist and Manaea/Finnegan over Hoffman/Norris.

So I don't know how you can be a fan of what the Royals did while hating what the Jays did.

Lol, an orioles fan approved of the trade.

"Art Vandelay"

If you're talking about ArtVanDelay from OriolesHangout, that guy is the f***ing scum of the earth. There is no way he said anything positive about the Jays.

You see that guy everywhere. Fangraphs chats, blog comments, Twitter, here, O's Hangout, etc.

He's that idiot who perpetuates the man in white thing.

Well a very important difference between the Royals and Blue Jays are their position in the standings. The Royals are a virtually lock for the division now and the Blue Jays will have to fight for the wildcard.

That's a good way of looking at it. Jays gave up less to get more. Pretty good peformance in a seller's market.
