5minutesforframing Verified Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 He's walked less this year and struck out a bit more ... I absolutely love getting him, but its interesting to note. Least interesting thing to note in the last 15 years Ziggs
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Tulo flipped for Shields Shields and Kimbrel maybe...not just Shields
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Reyes gets s*** on so much that people forget how f***ing exciting it was to get him. 10 WAR in less than two seasons before the trade. I think Reyes will do better with a change of scenery, but he won't get back to that level
BTS Community Moderator Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 There's no reason for us to trade away Reyes for Tulo and then not keep Tulo. Think logically for a second here people. Yeah, it would be shocking if he was flipped. They're not going to roll with Goins at short.
nmrch Verified Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Dude you are seriously an idiot. Reyes was still a top 5 SS at the time of the trade Reyes with the Marlins wasn't the peak Reyes with the Mets. His hamstring injuries already turned him into a mediocre defender and his best offensive days were behind him. Im not one of those guys that shits on Reyes all time, i don't even mind but he wasn't the equivalent of Tulo now. If you look at that trade we didn't give up prospects for him, the surplus value was for Johnson, how the f*** is any of this similar to that trade?
DuckDuckGose Verified Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 If there is, they are taking Reyes... Which might mean a guy like Richard Urena would be included in the deal. I could see the Dodgers wanting Reyes
bill Verified Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 AA was desperate to deal the big mistake he made in getting Reyes.
havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Ugh, I need to work tomorrow, but don't want to go to bed and miss the details. Same, but this is serious business here.

You're underestimating the player Reyes was at the time. He was a 4-5 win player. And you have no idea what they would have had to move for Reyes alone.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Reyes gets s*** on so much that people forget how f***ing exciting it was to get him. 10 WAR in less than two seasons before the trade. and was a year younger than Tulo is right now. Tulo won't ever be hated here though...cause he's white.
Solaxys Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 I am actually happy about this lol. I f***in hate Reyes. But Pitching? Hello?
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Yeah, it would be shocking if he was flipped. They're not going to roll with Goins at short. And it's not like Tulo to third party team wouldn't be the biggest headline here, Rosenthal would've been all over it.
bill Verified Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 I think Reyes will do better with a change of scenery, but he won't get back to that level Reyes is past his prime. Lets hope Tulo has a bit more in the tank than Reyes did

And you have no idea what they would have had to move for Reyes alone. I think you're overestimating what he was, his final year with the Mets was good but mostly BABIP driven. His 2010 season was mediocre and he was injured for almost all of 2009. So before the trade Reyes only had one really good season in the previous four, Tulo has had three if we're penalizing both guys for injuries. We'll have to agree to disagree if you think Reyes at the time of the trade was as valuable as Tulo is now.
Ziggyy108 Verified Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 What team would be crazy enough to take on Reyes at this point ...
aselvana Verified Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 i wonder if its well-known prospect, shouldnt it be leaked by now
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 So... Reyes to the Yankees then?
SexyNewForum Verified Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Here is a link to Denver radio http://player.listenlive.co/28371 God, huge interview in the AM Why am I here I don't even like this team. Jk you know deep down daddy loves you you bunch of slugging, choking, heart burn inducing misfits

ace3113 Verified Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 I could see Edwin going to Cleveland for one of their pitchers and one of their relievers. They have depth in both the rotation and bullpen.
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 What team would be crazy enough to take on Reyes at this point ... yankees?
Caper Verified Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Who would want Reyes? He must be going somewhere other then Colorado.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Reyes was terrible. Forget the stats, this guy didn't take the game seriously. I'll never forget when he threw away our win streak. Any time this team started to get some where there was Reyes. Reyes = Curse in the club house. Constantly fighting with Donaldson, creating a culture of separation. I would have paid $50 MIl to never see his ugly mug again. For me no other player is the reason for the disappointments of the least three years than Reyes. I'll never forget Jays were about the to go on a really big streak, and the guy just stopped paying attention to the ball. Its like his mind just goes elsewhere. Killed the streak. Killed the season. Garbage player.
