Through all the big HR years and decades of history of MLB, it was surprising me that we are the first EVER AL team with 3 players with 39 HRs or more.

I like round numbers so I hope Edwin tags 40 today.

Osuna must be exhausted.

No manager wants to knee jerk react and Sanchez was left in a role he should have been moved out of a month before they did, but the trend with Osuna is concerning to me.

Osuna was excellent for a lot of the yr but the last 5 weeks he has really struggled. Closer slumps are something a team cant afford in the playoffs. Lowe and Cecil are on better runs.

velocity wise he is still up there. But his fastball command has been pretty bad and his off-speed stuff as well

in this league nowadays V of 97 ish in high leverage is expected unless your Houston Street.

Its all about location and secondary out pitches command. That is where he has struggled so badly for 5 weeks. Hence the line.

Osuna: 6.35 K/9, 3.18 HR/9, 30.8% HR/FB, 4.76 ERA, 6.84 FIP

Edwin has a good chance today to get to 40. Gibbons could have given him an even better chance by batting Edwin 1st.

I think we'll see Gibby matching up a lot more in the post-season. Ie. Bring Cecil in to face a lefty to start the 9th if that's who's up, then go to Osuna for the final 2 outs...or something like that.

Am I slightly worried? Maybe a touch...I'm not incredibly worried. We have enough good arms to make it work out.

Besides, if our offense can get into a groove, me might not see many save opportunities (hopefully).

We mash against 3-5 starters and look human against 1-2. So don't count on that theory too much.

Feel exactly the same I think Krylian. I just don't see the point in anyone glossing over the last 5 weeks for Osuna. I'm sure they aren't. Runs will be harder to come by in the playoffs.

To me, the biggest question mark is Gibby - Does he understand that he has all these options in his pen and is he willing to NOT put in Osuna in the 9th or at least have a quick hook

who would have thought a couple months ago that the post season promo would star a Goins HR? kid has come a long way this year.

cum together promo includes the wave

Gross.

Also, I'm sure Mets fans will be up in arms with the Delgado video. Pfft, like he's going to support them over the Jays.

Ha naw... Delgado is a Blue Jay. Just like Buehrle is a White Sock.

We have to hope the Astros/Royals is the other ALDS game, as MLB will likely favor the team with Price, Donaldson, Bautista, Tulo, etc, on it over those teams when it comes to timeslot.

However, yes, the Yankees will get top priority if they end up making it.

This is not true. All of this speculation is baseless.

The two series also have games on Friday. I assume each series will get one night game of the first two. Ergo, the Yankees won't automatically play Thursday night because the broadcaster may prefer they play the Friday night.

Been thinking that too, they can back to back yanks right to mets/dodgers, jays could be primetime thursday and quick turnaround for 1pm friday

Does MLB actually schedule playoff games for a weekday afternoon? Don't they know that people have to go to work?

No offence, but I don't know how a baseball fan doesn't know this. It just makes you look like a bandwagoner. Almost like not understanding the ever so confusing magic number process.

Don't be such a troll. It means that I only follow the Blue Jays, and in the past the Expos, who haven't been in the playoffs for 22 years.

I didn't ask anything about the magic number. But if you think these things are really important then it is time for you to get out of the house more.
