EMK19 Verified Member Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 So it seems like KC has it well in hand tonight, we'll fall back into a tie for first overall. Hopefully Twins can play them tough starting tm.
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 Not sure if this was ever caught in the Tulo thread, but I was browsing through the Donaldson trade thread and found this... http://blacksportsonline.com/index/5yvj8o.gif And jesus I just lost like 300 posts lol. I wish AA had threw in Sanchez actually.

Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 What did the Mets, Dodgers, KC, Cards, etc do with their lineup the day after they clinched though? Cuz I'm sure players in those teams got blasted as well. Did they go the same route as ours in fielding the AAA team? I get putting out the "league cup squad" (to anyone who knows Soccer well, heh) in the second game of the double header but I was real surprised when we did it again for today... that along with the selection of pitchers today after Hutch out of the pen it made it blatantly obvious that Gibby didn't give a rat's ass about winning today at all. And shutting down Price for the season IMO also kind of hints at the fact that they're not serious at all about being first overall, either. But I guess if that's the route they have elected to take, taking playing it safe rest of the way over risking it a bit to seriously go for first overall, then I guess let them be. Mets threw out a garbage lineup the day after they clinched. Kelly Johnson was playing SS for f***s sake
vdubmvp Old-Timey Member Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 I once again vote for a town meeting. Maybe try the OT forum?

JaysAllMighty Old-Timey Member Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 Unfortunately when there's massive unnecessary banning people start looking for another forum. One person can ruin a good forum. Maybe a person should think about removing themselves from the moderating position when people are not accepting him as such.... just saying.

It has to be juiced and he doesn't seem to have the time or interest for this place anymore. As you said, though, people will start leaving and it's just going to ruin the board.

That's exactly what's going to happen here. This is 2013 MLB forum all over again. Different issue this time, TOO MUCH moderation

For today's game, specifically, I understand it, as you don't want to risk your regulars getting injured in terrible playing conditions (torrential rain) when, at worst, you'll be tied for HFA after tonight. In the last weekend series though, I really hope the boys put in effort, especially without Price or Stroman in the series. For one, HFA would be nice given our splits, and secondly, the boys need to remain sharp heading into the ALDS.

I completely agree with what you posted, especially considering the poor playing conditions in Baltimore. However, my attitude will change if Gibbons uses the same tactics in Tampa and doesn't even use pinch hitters to try and win games. Playing as if a team doesn't care whether they win or lose is disrespectful of the fans who watch the games and therefore pay for mega-million dollar contracts of players and Gibbons (I am not sure how much Gibbons makes). I can understand Gibbons attitude but it is a bit annoying also. If the Blue Jays play with their B team in Tampa and doesn't even use pinch hitters then that will make the weekend series unenjoyable for the fans. Gibbons, you have to also respect the bozos out there in fantasy land since they are the ones who pay for your contract instead of you coaching some amateur team and having to go to work 5 days a week. Don't condone drunkenness - in the real working world such behavior often results in workers being terminated. It is also a very poor example for the very young fans of the team. Just imagine a 10 year old you thinks that a team plays 100% every game who now realizes that they don't.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 Not sure if posted, but basically Gibby gives 0 f***s about HFA. I feel dirty for actually agreeing with Gibbons, but he's right. Don't bench them for all the remaining games but there was no need for any important player to play in the 2nd game of the double header or in the rain yesterday. It was the right call.

The difference is nobody here is suggesting he play the starters for "fantasy" reasons...

Do you realize we could end up with a 2 or 3 way tie between the Astros, Angels and Twins?

Do you realize we could end up with a 2 or 3 way tie between the Astros, Angels and Twins? With the scare involving Cain and Morales i wonder if Yost will ease up a bit going into this weekend. Would like to personally see Bautista, Donaldson both DH at some point this weekend just to give them another day out of the field but they can keep their bats in the lineup so they don't get rusty.

z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 nice lineup. I like Tulo at 7 to get him back into things
Governator Community Moderator Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 That line up looks viscous.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 That line up looks viscous. How awesome is it have Tulo back and the bottom of the order shortened? I think you should do GDT since you took one for the team leading off the 2 DOGS yesterday...
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 I miss Devon Travis. Agreed. What a slaughter house that would be with him in that lineup. Luckily Goins has really stepped up his game and has been more than adequate.
