reedjohnsonfan Verified Member Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 I posted this a few pages back but I think it faded into the excitement of the servers rebooting. I was thinking about 2016, namely the rotation, and was talking with my brother about potential trades AA could make in the off-season to rectify it. My main target would be Carlos Carrasco. His peripherals are fantastic and his contract provides excellent WAR value, as you all know I'm sure. Near the trade deadline, rumours seemed to indicate that a Hoffman, Norris, Pompey package nearly got it done, but ultimately was rejected because they wanted Stro, possibly in place of Hoff? Well, given that they were our 3 best prospects at the time, but, debatably, not major league ready yet, at that point, what could Alex offer to maybe get it done? Would it take a similar package to what landed JD? I would offer Revere, Sanchez, Hutch, and Greene. Do you guys think that would do it, or would selling high on Pillar (in place of Revere, with his 4 WAR) and adding Cola help get it done? If they laugh this off, what do you gents think it would take? Speculating on trades is fun, but to be honest there is no chance that is enough to get Carrasco. I don't think the Jays have enough to get him.

He used to be a party animal in his LA days but now he seems to be a lot more mature. He might not be getting sloshed everynight but he seems like the type of person who drinks wine a ton.

Good use of vignette love the balance of the two lighter spots at opposite corners (his face and the ball/pants).

BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 Definitive proof Pillar was out at the plate last night http://m.mlb.com/video/topic/vtp_review_summary/v507363483?query=Definitive%20angle%20tor Thanks. Thought for sure West and the crew blew that one. Good for them they got it right (that's easier to say now cause we won )

dineke Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 What's this talk about Navarro catching Estrada in the playoffs??? Gibby can't be serious.
37stieb Verified Member Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 What's this talk about Navarro catching Estrada in the playoffs??? Gibby can't be serious. I don't see why not. If that stats indicate the Jays winning during Estrada's good pitching performance. I would say Navarro you're in. If the Jays were winning in Hutch fashion. No thanks. As it is way harder to recover from a 6-8 run deficit as opposed to a 2-3 deficit when Estrada pitches. Navarro may call a better game then Martin when Estrada pitches.
BlueBirdBro Verified Member Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 Rain out tonight likely. 95% chance of rain around 9pm with intermittent thunderstorms after 4:45pm

I wouldn't mess around with a pitcher who skates on thin margins. It's 3 AB's. It's not the end of the world.
BlueBirdBro Verified Member Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 By the time we get to Estrada in the rotation, hopefully we'd have already won Price, Stroman and Dickey's starts. In that case Navarro is ok I guess...

It's not the end of the world. Take your point on their tandem. Their numbers are good together. I don't know if its real or just an anomaly. Its not the end of the world and Navvy is capable of offensive production. Its not Thole. Its more the D loss that concerns me.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 NYY Loose tonight. We win our first game (Clinch) PLay our scrubs the 2nd game and done.

The bottom line is that perception is reality in the mind of a pitcher. If Estrada thinks it matters having Navarro in there, then it matters. Do whatever it takes to keep Estrada's smoke and mirrors working. Him not imploding is more important than a few extra innings for Martin.

Navvy went up a notch for me when he guessed right on Miller's first pitch FB in the 9th and tied that big game lol. He squared that up big time. Wish we could have completed that comeback. Would have been a sweet one.

Sorrow Verified Member Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 Only problem with that is he hes has 1 at-bat in a month. It's been super frustrating. Giving Pillar or Revere a day off wouldn't kill the team.
