burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 Did they announce when Stroman is starting next? Most likely Friday vs the Red Sox or Saturday?
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 Hutch won't be starting with Stroman back The Jays will give Burly every opportunity to better Cy Young.
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 Sacarficial virgins !!! Lol 82 wins with 19 games left to go.....3 out of 4 against the Yankees. We may not even have to sacrifice the virgins, although it's always good to have that in your back pocket just in case. What a great time to be a blue jay fan. The playoffs can't come soon enough.
Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 What record do we end the season with? I'm calling 93-69, going 11-8 over the course of the remaining 19 games. Yanks would have to go 14-6.

jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 Great series win. At this point, it's almost nearly a certainty the Jays are making the postseason. And the Yankees, when they face Toronto again, will not have Tanaka available, as he's scheduled vs. the Mets. Braves Probables: Buehrle/Teheran Price/TBA(Miller?) Hutch/Stroman/TBA(Wisler?) At this moment, the Atlanta Braves have not confirmed anything, as MLB lists Wed/Thurs starters as TBA.

Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 We have Boston and NY after the Braves, so curious to see what they do with the rotation.
EMK19 Verified Member Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 Well, we'd have to see where both the Yanks and the Jays will be by the next Jays/Yanks series rolls around, perhaps Yanks may still shuffle the rotation to align Tanaka to face us (he could prob also use more rest) if they feel they still have a shot at catching us at that point. But then it would be a question of whether or not Yanks even have the depth for the rotation to even try that at this point, it'd probably be risky for sure. I recall we lost the series vs. Braves at home, can't recall much from it but I do remember Miller beating us and winning the one game in extras. On paper we should be good for a sweep or at least a series win, but we said that about the Phillies too and came out with only splits so still cautious about it... especially because of uncertainty with Buehrle and if EE ends up needing more time for his finger issues.

Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 Yeah, unsure how we will do with Buehrle going.

Not happening. Yanks pitching depth is poor right now with Eovaldi's injury. Plus, they need to win as much as possible if they want any chance of catching the Jays. As for the Braves series, Atlanta's team is very different from April.. and a lot worse.
Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 We said the same thing about Philly and look how that turned out. Just keep focus on the prize. Atlanta is not a .250 ballclub like they've been the last few weeks.

Atlanta is not a .250 ballclub like they've been the last few weeks. There's no comparison to Philly.. Atlanta is MUCH worse than Philly in many ways. And the Braves bullpen is awful.

There are some teams that play for pride once they're out it. Philly is showing to be one of those teams- Atlanta is not. This could be a blood bath

intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 Will we see Nova or Sabathia? How about Warren? Probably hard to say. Yankees will no doubt aim to get Tanaka and Pineda into the series any way they can.

Tread softly and beware out there, buddy!!! Hopefully cooler heads prevail and we are all here to Cheer on our Jays another day!!!
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 Probably hard to say. Yankees will no doubt aim to get Tanaka and Pineda into the series any way they can. Which will not happen. Pineda and Tanaka are scheduled for the Mets series. It's expected to be Sabathia, Severino and Nova, with a chance Warren may end up making one of those starts. Mets series is Nova/Pineda/Tanaka (not out of the question Tanaka gets moved up to Saturday after Nova's implosion in his last start.)
Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 One hopes Archer can stymie the Yanks this time around so they don't get swept. No stupd short porch to hang onto.

The Yankees don't have much wiggle room to rejig their rotation for their trip here in just over a week.
flafson Verified Member Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 Will we see Nova or Sabathia? How about Warren? They been resting Tanaka to fit their schedule, so likely we will see their best 3 pitchers.
