BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 I don't think you understand how good Tulowitzki is. When he's back to his normal self next year, you'll be calling him your favourite player. Absolutely. And frankly I wouldn't be surprised if he goes on a tear this month. This is a guy with a .400 lifetime OBP (and lots of other great numbers) who is K'ing at a Rasmus rate right now. I cant see that continuing.

labadee Verified Member Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 Can we get some emotion out of tulo? I understand the guy is business first but it's as though he s really still not sure if he wants to be here. Strikes out with bad calls. Nothing. Big plays. Nothing. No emotion If this guy would show us the team how inspired he is, it would gravitate even more thru team. We are now waiting on a "tulo watch" but reality is he has to play like he is loving being here. His demeanour will inspire team even if he isn't hitting. He almost plays like a suck right now. I disagree that his demeanour will inspire the team even if he isn't hitting. Reyes was the complete opposite of him, and the team has excelled with Tulo's presence. His value right now is he provides defensive stability, and his offence will come, we all know that. Having a team full of emotion isn't the recipe for success, we had Lawrie and Reyes on the same team, both very emotional players. Tulo just lets his performance on the field do the talking on his behalf, and I have nothing wrong with that. We have plenty of other personalities to keep the clubhouse morale high
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 tulo's demeanour is similar to roy halladay's..... 'nuff said
Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 Eovaldi shut down for two weeks due to inflammation. Big break.

I know how great he is/was, but my fear is whether he'll ever reach that level again at his age and with his injury history. I'll change it up though, I'd hold on to him for one more season since Bautista and EE are locked up for 2016, and then determine the direction from there.

People (myself included) were saying the same thing about Edwin and Bautista earlier this season. They are both back to normal. Tulo is too good of a hitter to suddenly turn into a league-average bat.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 1 month ago we were 8 games back of the Yankees Today we are half a game ahead There is no reason to fear them. Regardless of what happens we will handle them head to head
Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 Now let's hope Tanaka's experiences some elbow inflammation.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 Now let's hope Tanaka's experiences some elbow inflammation. That's horrible
Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 That's how much I despise the Yanks and their fans.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 Ban worthy stuff here from Trouba
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 Eovaldi shut down for two weeks due to inflammation. Big break. It could lead to some innings issues on Severino/Pineda/Tanaka. Pineda is already struggling as is.. and Severino is closing in on his innings limits, which will likely mean a lot of short outings of 5 innings or less from here on out to preserve him for the postseason. And of course, what are they going to get from Sabathia? Plus, the Yanks need distance from their starters.. can't keep going to Wilson/Betances/Miller every game. They'll be burned out by October, at the rate Girardi uses them. In fact, Betances and Miller may be starting to show signs of wear, based on today's Yanks/O's game (which the Yanks won because of the O's incompetence.) BTW, Capuano is back with the Yanks (again).
Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 Win the next two, split in NY and must sweep the lowly Braves while having the Mets take a game or two from the Yanks.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 That's horrible f*** the Yankees!
Mozzer Verified Member Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 Sometimes sports fans think of players like an equity in the stock market. It's hard to time the market and usually the best course with a blue chip asset is to just chill. Tulo is a true pro, a stud in the field and lifetime 300 hitter. Hes getting older, but no reason to believe he can't be an elite player for the majority of the years left on his contract.

Governator Community Moderator Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 Today's lineup Must have had FYSMC above Boston Red Sox unless that's glare.
baubau Verified Member Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 Today's lineup A little surprised it isn't Smoak in the lineup. Its not as if he has hit bad this series, had a hard hit ball last night and a HR the night before. Hitting as a LH he could take advantage of that short left but whatever Gibby gon Gibbs.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 we need to stop with the myth that Smoak is a good hitter. 104 wRC. Barely above average. Compare with lolobello at 147

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 not sure if posted already: I guess technically Edwin was most recently acquired via waivers from Oakland, but I would have liked to see the Rolen-Glaus-ODog branch running from EE station.

HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 I'm pretty sure lolabello will have an easier time using the Monster to his advantage compared to Smoak.

Compare with lolobello at 147 I think people know this, it's his defense that is great, although Cola has been decent lately at first.
