Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 One hopes the O's don't break out of this skid they're in. They can break out in a big way next series, though.

burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 So looks like AA will be back and be in charge of baseball while Shapiro is mostly the business guy for those who were wondering. Via Kiley McDaniel: Blue Jays: There was some chatter when Shapiro was in talks to join Toronto as president that he could become the top baseball decision maker, which would then force GM Alex Anthopoulos to assess his market, as his contract is expiring after the year and he would be the top candidate on the market. I’ve been told by multiple sources that this isn’t the case and Shapiro will function in more of a business role, leaving the baseball to Anthopoulos. So, this isn’t really even a situation to monitor, I’m just taking a chance to tell Blue Jays fans to calm down.

JD needed a friend.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 Will Shapiro have final say though? Well yeah but in Cleveland he didn't agree with certain trades but still approved them because he trusted his co-workers. I think this is a pretty good move. He obviously will have a ton of work to do so let AA handle the baseball side in the short term while it lets him focus on the bigger President Tasks. Im sure a huge goal is to get better facilities in Dunedin and thats exactly the type of things Shapiro needs to address.

Trekkie Verified Member Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 How secretly jealous is JB of JD on a scale of 1-10?
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 (edited) How secretly jealous is JB of JD on a scale of 1-10? Funnily enough I was wondering the other day if the changing team with less focus on Jose B and Edwin bothers Bautista. I don't think so. He is a major contributor and enjoying less pressure himself. He wants to win above all else. Edited September 4, 2015 by BigCecil

baubau Verified Member Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 What, you never noticed Bautista seems to get madder if he's having a bad game and one of his teammates hits a HR? That is just how Bautista is as a competitor. People always see it as "f*** you, I am the man". Why does no ever see it as "f***, i am not happy with my last at bat". Seriously, its always jealousy. No one ever thinks the due is upset on his performance alone. It boggles my mind people always try to find controversy on something that doesn't exist. JB is still the voice of the team despite JD getting more media hype.

Yorkshire Blue Jay Verified Member Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 How secretly jealous is JB of JD on a scale of 1-10? Jealous? He's delighted that JD, TT and the other additions are here..... It is September and we lead the division playing meaningful baseball, he just wants to contribute and help us win. He gets mad when he has a bad game because he wants to contribute. So a big fat lonely old zero from me on the jealousy scale. Why do some folk want to peddle this myth when these are the good times.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 Hopefully Pompey gets a start soon. Keep his bat hot if at all possible.
