Caper Verified Member Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 Sorry if posted: http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/the-pirates-plunder-toronto/ Is that the worst trade analysis in the history of baseball? Or I guess maybe the most incorrect? It's funny because he lays the ground work for the article saying how he has not been a fan of the pirate recent moves, before going into how he really likes this one.... which of course turned out to be maybe one of the worst trade of all time (only in hindsight of course).

That last sentence quoting batting average... For shame fangraphs.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 I like the move to bring up Thole. Get Martin a few days off in a row to rest the hamstring. I think Thole will struggle catching Dickey on Sunday though. It'll be his first time catching him since April/May and its one of those things that needs practice.
Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 Twins/O's on SN1 tonight at 7.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 Twins/O's on SN1 tonight at 7. Must win for both teams, especially if the Angels lose tonight, as Baltimore could get into the 2nd wild card or Minnesota could get within 1 game, pending the result of the Rangers/Tigers game, which Texas will likely win, as Randy Wolf is pitching for the Tigers..
baubau Verified Member Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 BAL has KC after. I'm conflicted. Can they both loose?
Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 I'm conflicted. Can they both loose? You really think we can surpass KC?
BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 Why not ? A month ago nobody thought we would be hanging or challenging for 1st with the Yankees either! It's a New Day, It's a New Life... And I'm feeling Good!!! The New Jay has come ... Fysmc !!!
Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 If we make the first WC, I hope somehow the Twins squeeze into the 2nd WC. Do not want to play BAL in the one gamer.

saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 So much negative with this one! Lol the force is as weak as, a sugar conscious crystal light lemon drink made by a vegan mom at an 8 year old's birthday party, with that one.

BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 Soo a True vegan will never be a lesbian or would they be a hypocrite ?
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 Angels lineup.. puke! Estrada shouldn't have much trouble.. and you wonder why the Twins, O's, Rangers and Rays are salivating to play Toronto in the wild card game.

Not sure what you mean by the bolded. The jays will be a dangerous team for anyone in the post season.
Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 Lol bello back at 1st. Man...we have a much better record with Smoak in the line up, if I'm not mistaken.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 Top 3 can still win a game triple handily. .... But the rest of the lineup on the other hand.. just stinks. And Cron vs. a RHP is weaker than vs. LHP. But the Angels have very few options.. David Murphy batting cleanup? Not sure on that one.. oh, and his OF defense stinks. Green is up in an emergency situation because Giovatella is still sick.

The jays will be a dangerous team for anyone in the post season. What I meant was that the Twins, O's and Rangers, and Rays want to overtake the Angels so they can play Toronto in the wild card game.. but as it stands, that would be at home at Rogers Centre. And yes, we are going to be a dangerous team in the postseason. Let's catch the Yanks first so that they end up in the wild card game and have to play the Royals if they get to the ALDS..
thatoneguy Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 Gibbons, Colabello should not be playing 1B. Sincerely, allthoseguys

Murphy is dangerous no, although I agree, cleanup is a stretch? Aybar can be a pest too...The bottom of our order is not exactly scary either. Can't underestimate anyone, their pitcher tonight has been pretty good so far. Gibby with Colabello at first lol.
