Too bad. I know its very unlikely, but hoping Goins can contribute a bit more of 0 with Pillar falling off cliff at bottom of order.
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 Damn, that was painful to read... By the way, how does this theory explain why Navarro's still on the team? navarro is getting 8M.... DV was making chump change. big difference throwing a quarter into a cup and throwing around hundred dollar bills.

Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 Hope this Oakland series isn't a letdown. We're facing good pitching and this is a series in past yrs where we would lay an egg. I'd be content with 2/3. Can't take them lightly.
Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 Even though the standings aren't indicative of this... Oakland >>>>>> Minnesota

It feels like our record is much worse at the Coliseum.

Stop looking at the negatives and start embracing that teams coming to Toronto aren't particularly excited about it!

candymartinez Verified Member Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 Any news on Michael Saunders recently? I can't find any news on him. Last I read was he was progressing slowly and expected for early September, but that was from early July.
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 C'mon, be logical! Past season stats against a particular team or in a particular ballpark have no bearing on the present. Fangraphs says the current Jays are the best team in the American League, while the A's are the league's second-worst. There's every reason to be excited about the challenge. Winning 2/3 would obviously be a success (which is true of any series). Except the rays. We could be as good as the 1927 Yankees and still wont have a winning record against them.

DuckDuckGose Verified Member Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 He's not in rehab games yet, basically done for the year at this point. (if he does get healthy he would still need a month or so to get back up to game speed)
Smokey Verified Member Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 navarro is getting 8M.... DV was making chump change. big difference throwing a quarter into a cup and throwing around hundred dollar bills. A. That's inaccurate. B. $ had little bearing on the decision. C. In case you haven't realized this yet, AA has put his balls on the line in order to make a playoff push and no reasonable person would assume that at a time like this he's focused on giving DV an opportunity to play everyday.

Latest Ive seen is old July 1st http://fantasynews.cbssports.com/fantasybaseball/update/25230240/blue-jays-of-michael-saunders-still-not-close-to-returning Seems incredible now how bummed I was at the time he stepped on that sprinkler head.
LTR Verified Member Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 dude, he's dead Don't want him on the club this year anyway, he looked like a sloth in the OF.
candymartinez Verified Member Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 I just found this article from July 25. Decent read: http://www.sportsnet.ca/baseball/mlb/blue-jays-saunders-my-seasons-not-over-yet/

Plus Oakland has one of the worst pens in baseball.

Seems like speculation. We just had to get Revere's salary paid for.
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 I hate to do this, but Saunders in LF, Revere in CF and Travis at 2B. That's what you call six to midnight.
Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 Is Mlb.tv worth it? I've just been streaming games up to this point and wanting to watch some games on my xbox 360. Any advice? Thanks guys!

Let's say I want to watch the away team for Jays games at home. I'm thinking of just paying for one month of premium at $24.99 so I can watch the contenders in the AL and some NL games.

Thanks guys! Yes. I've only had it for a few weeks and it's great. My TV has a built-in app for it and I've also watched games on my Surface. TV has been a bit glitchier than the tablet, but still good.

Wasn't there reports that Gibby ultimately decided who they should keep? Either way, our wonderfully respected mod is the one who's speculating here by claiming DV didn't want to be here and him making so little had something to do with him getting DFAed.

bones10 Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 What causes Bautista's BABIP to be so low exactly? Hes at .224 this year the lowest since 2012, is getting unlucky?

Ya, it was in an interview w/ Gibbons where he said AA gave him the choice as they thought both wouldn't make it through waivers and Gibby picked Cola.
