Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 Isn't the Jays' BP top half in ERA, FIP, and xFIP? I think 3rd in xFIP, I think 5th in FIP and 6th in ERA in the AL. I'm often wrong though so... About 30% of our bullpen just got demoted along with a starter.....so no not good overall. But in the end if we had an avg starting rotation we would be a lot better including today.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 Jenkins, Francis and Boyd...........or Norris? Also said Travis expected to be called up...I'd imagine it's Travis, Boyd, Jenkins (both for the pen) then when Sanchez's spot comes back up Jenkins or 1 of the bench players would go down and Norris would come up to start.
nonamejays Verified Member Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 The jays need desperately to nuke the bull pen and throw different bodies in there.

Coke was the 3rd lefty in the pen, Tepera was the last man out of the pen and Copeland their 7th or 8th SP filling in. SP is the bigger issue.
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 Yes, the pen is perfectly fine. Everyone needs to calm down. It's as if the 2nd inning didn't happen (although Gibbons probably stuck with Copeland too long).

ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 I REALLY hope Boyd is up. And he deserves to be. That could work, he would be in the bp till Sanchez's next start comes up. Like Abominable suggested earlier, maybe use the young guys at AAA (Norris, Boyd and Castro) to bolster the pen. Good thing about all 3 is that they've been starting at Buffalo so they could pitch multiple innings or start games, except Castro, of course who's been injured.
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 Is Boyd on the 40-man roster? I guess it doesn't matter since I think they have an open spot. Could really use Guilmet and West at this point...

I think they said Travis would be up mid-week or so, so I wouldn't expect him to be part of tomorrow's call-ups. He'll probably come up and Kawasaki will go down on Wednesday or Thursday.

glory Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 Copeland shouldn't have been in the Majors unless 3-4 MLB starters got hurt. The fact that he was the team's first depth call-up shows a complete lack of common sense by AA.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 Kawasaki goes down tomorrow when Dickey is reactivated No he won't. Didn't you see that Coke, Tepera and Copeland were optioned? We don't need a fifth starter until Boston IIRC.

Boyd and Jenkins most likely in the pen. Dickey back Kawasaki down. Travis back as well

BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 Now send loup and Cecil down! That's two that should be down too on the farm! Lame animals get shot on farms! Lol

LTR Verified Member Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 And thus continues the derp-go-round of losers. This is not the try league people, this is the get it done league. Let's get more guys that try really hard and can't get it done.
LTR Verified Member Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 When is Travis back? We need more offense to compliment our s***** pitching.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 ^ Probably activated tomorrow and playing tomorrow.
FrozenRopes Verified Member Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 The problem is the owners couldn't care less about their baseball team so they have a GM who is average, a coach who is average and a team that is average. It sucks as a fan.

TheHurl Site Manager Posted June 22, 2015 Author Posted June 22, 2015 Don't get your hopes up. It might be Francis. Dear god, I hope not. Francis was just named to Canada's Pan Am squad. He's not coming back to the bigs or they wouldn't have given permission for him to play
TheHurl Site Manager Posted June 22, 2015 Author Posted June 22, 2015 somebody wants a 'thanks'! Is that code for anal?

Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 Ben Nicholson-Smith Source: #BlueJays set to select contract of RHP Todd Redmond today.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 Please don't tell me Redmond is going to start. With Doubront, Boyd, and Norris in AAA, I refuse to believe Redmond is going to start for this team again.
Arjun Nimmala Vancouver Canadians - A+ SS It's been slow going at the start of the season for Nimmala, but on Sunday, he was 3-for-5 with his 3rd home run and 3 RBI. Explore Arjun Nimmala News >
