Oh, and I was referencing your silly paranoid comments that "he's probably Dogg" (and I still have no clue who that is, beyond some guy who posted on the old board, and still has a startlingly creepy lasting effect on many people here ... get over it) and that I have a "collection of forums" on which I post and/or do this kind of posting. I didn't say anything about any Dogg character, I dunno who that is other than some old legendary creeper on the MLB Jays board. Who's the paranoid one now? Hearing voices in your head again, Coppy?

KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 It will have a negligible effect, at best. It shouldn't have any effect, really. It just adds to the fun. It's just some extra spice. Kick it up a notch, and all that. This is an incredibly naive, simplistic if not frankly idiotic way to think. I mean you can get away with it by being in a position of power or contributing value in other ways but it's certainly not going to make your life any easier. You constantly take what other people say in the least generous, most negative light, you constantly nit-pic and talk down to people and you never give any credit to anyone other than yourself and then you wonder why you're a lightning rod. FFS, you should at least own up to your own m.o. If you don't see any value in relationship building and want to act like an entitled jerk then at least own up to it and don't go around complaining that the board has more patience with Spanky or with anyone else than it does with you.

KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 I don't want to get in the middle but I can't think of a time where moogy ever wondered why he is a lightning rod. I don't think you get his persona. You might be right and I probably shouldn't bother but once, just once, I'd like to finally get through to him. Every now and then, it seems like I hit a nerve but he always retreats back to his "I am the master" posturing. So frustrating. I'm usually pretty good at finding ways to relate to other people, finding common grounds, opportunities for civil exchange but with Moogy we just go around in circles. He seems to really hate me which though midly amusing really isn't my end game at all.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 I understand, far better than you, what I'm doing, and the ramifications thereof. Care to enlighten me? If you're not going to change then it seems like the least you could do is come clean on whatever it is that you do. Whenever the suggestion is made that you are just trolling, that this is just some kind of disingenuous persona, a game where you use your rhetorical skills to irritate and anatagonize, you bristle at that. You genuinely seem insulted at the suggestion. But when you are called out on the many ways in which you needlessly annoy and antagonize people, you show no real desire to change and to have better interactions.

KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 I've explained it ad nauseum, so I don't think enlightenment is in your future. Trolling is something people do simply, and only, to either cause a purely emotional reaction, or to go off topic. I don't do that. Never have. Never will (again, with the exception of the obvious jokes, like the Boxy sheep-loving comment). There is always substance to what I'm posting. Even my most "off topic, personal" digs have something to them ... e.g. I don't post that you're a kreepykat-lover simply to invoke some negative feeling in you. I do so, so that you might see that you come off as a kreepy kat lover and might change your ways. It's quite easy to cut through my insults, see the substance, and respond to that, if you aren't emotionally infirm. And I also don't post negative or opposing views simply to get a rise out of people. Again, never have. Never will. I post them because I either believe in what I'm saying, or I believe what I'm responding to is wrong. Again, substantive. Not argumentative for the sake of argument. But argumentative in a substantive sense. Even while I'm calling you a kreepy kat loving dude with a white van and a stash of candy. O.K. But since you don't really make any effort to be anything other than unpleasant, I'm just going to put you on ignore and be done with it. I really tire of the way you interact with people. It's incredibly condescending and you just don't seem to mind that it is. I find that seriously f***ed up but constantly telling you as much doesn't get us anywhere. I've tried being confrontational. I've tried sending olive branches. I'm tired of it. The only way it gets better is when you leave. I could keep pestering you in the hopes that you either change or leave but I'm already exhausted by this conversation alone. I don't enjoy my arguments with you. They are tedious. You get really hung up on certain word choices, you don't really seem to make any real effort to understand what I'm saying and instead want to dictate it to me. Overall you just seem to value me very little as a human being who might have something to say so frankly to hell with you. I give up.

I just couldn't do him justice in a concise way! Oh you know, Coppy's big important job required him to spend a lot of time during prime business hours today to speak down to KingKat, since, you know, COOs of investment firms have nothing better to do. I wonder if Coppy books personal time off in his Outlook calendar earmarked for BJMB talk down time? Oh and his lengthy post at 8am just screams "successful business man and dedicated father" given this is the usual time that normal successful family men would spend having breakfast with their kids and getting them ready for school and commuting to work themselves....maybe even having a morning quickie with the wife. But no, that was also earmarked for BJMB time!
Olerud363 Old-Timey Member Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 I love it when Olerud jumps in This is an interesting topic. Moogie's point (before he derailed the thread) seemed to be that since the Rays pitching is all injured all these high tech efforts must mean s***... On the other hand their pitching staff seems to be performing and Rays are in first.

But no, that was also earmarked for BJMB time! Most COO types I've known are very concise, very polite, and are everybody's best friend publicly. Even if they will screw you behind your back and are phony as hell, they will still shake your hand, ask interesting questions about yourself, and generally make you feel good. Moogy has none of the personality trades of COO types.

But no, that was also earmarked for BJMB time! AA is a good example of how "COO" types normally act. If you listen to AAs interviews he is very non threatening, friendly, not all that concise admittedly, but very positive to everybody... AA - "Admittedly Dickey hasn't pitched as well as we hope, but at the time we acquired him it was an opportunity to acquire a Cy Young Winner, Paul supported the decision, the Scouts supported the decision, I signed off on the decision, the fans supported the decision at the time, Rogers supported it. And I understand that 3 years later the fans are frustrated, I feel for them, but Dickey is going to give us 200 innings, there are no guarentees a young player can do that, I understand what the fans are going through, but the teams 2 games out of first, lets see how it plays out." Complimentary to everybody, non threatening. -- that's part of how these types get ahead.

Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 You really are especially bad at this. You have to try to be this bad. 8 am? Hanging out eating breakfast? What, am I going to my 9-5 cashier job down the street? I'm commuting, at the office, or working from home, sparky. Like everyone else with a meaningful job in or around the city. Whilst you may need to remind yourself, and set aside time, to post ... the majority of functioning folks can post on the fly. In fits and spurts. Waiting for a train. Riding in the back of a car. Waiting for a meeting to start. On the shitter. It's really not an issue. Your message is, essentially, that one must be a complete waste of flesh to have time to post on a message board. Yet, here you are. Congrats on insulting yourself. I guess you can't read the part where I said commuting. I left a bunch of options open, none of which involve you spending your precious time as a successful business man or father usefully. So let me get this straight...while waiting for meetings or in the back of a cab you're drooling on your iPhone posting like a madman on this site...got nothing better to do than to pick fights with online Canadians who share the same favourite team as yourself? Ok then!

Ok then! I find it hard to believe Moogy is able to type out all this crap on a hand-held. And he's been at it all morning. Has he been commuting all morning?? I am now picturing Moogy living in an executive cottage in the thousands islands area... he has a 3 and half hour commute every morning to down town Toronto, which he takes by private limousine, posting on Blue Jays Message Board all morning. Anybody ever see that "Girl with the Dragon Tatoo" movie or read the book?? I picture Moogy like the bad guy in that film... executive cottage with a little dungeon for his lady friends.
Olerud363 Old-Timey Member Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 We all picture you in a padded cell. So there's that. So one theory that was going around a while ago is that Moogy/Copperweld is really Stoeten trolling us... So there's that. hmmmm.... Stoeten = some fat hipster dude who formally worked for Sportsnet (edit I think it was "the score") website (which as we all know was not affiliated with Rogers)... whatever Stoeten's weakness... his strength was the ability to quickly rip off wordy arrogant, web blogs, often with the punchline "so there's that" Stoeten is currently employed on some sort of contract basis with various entities and runs his own site (named after himself). If anybody would have the time to nurture and maintain the Moogy personality it would be Stoeten. He also has motivation since so many on this board make fun of him. (edit) Also this board probably took a lot of his traffic, as a place for Jays to hang out, so we hurt his livelihood. So there's that!

Olerud363 Old-Timey Member Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 Stoeten is doing very well for himself atm. He and Drew bring in nearly $1700 monthly with their podcast alone, which records once a week. Well that would be 10000 a year for each of them... You'd need a few projects in that range to make a living.... And if he Stoeten is making 50 grand a more a year, working 5 hours a week... well that fits the theory. He'd have all the time in the world to be Moogie.

Also it's not surprising he would be doing well when the next option for Blue Jays podcast is Mike Wilner or Jeff Blair. Stoeten also knows how to improve his SEO/popularity by spamming the interwebs.
