Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 Just checked, 15 day DL in June. Has 3 starts since he's been back; 19IP, 2R, 1 ER, 20 SO, 8 BB, 0.47 ERA, 2.24 FIP. Seems fine to me. Sure the results seem fine, until his UCL explodes...
DuckDuckGose Verified Member Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 Sure the results seem fine, until his UCL explodes... Well you aren't going to get a pitcher like Lance Lynn if there aren't some concerns. Plus the UCL exploding is a concern for every pitcher.

jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 They are just doing their job. I mean think about it, what gets more people talking. Prospects they've never herd about or briefly hear about vs a pitcher who is a large deadline actualization to try and create more excitement for the team? They could get people talking about good content as well. People just calling them dumb asses does nothing really.
DuckDuckGose Verified Member Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 I'm quite aware brah, just saying a forearm strain leads to nightmares as you and I know. I think it often leads to TJS but that isn't a nightmare and sometimes it is just a strain. The Jays really just need someone to get them through this season. If the medicals check out (as in it was a strain that has healed and not a precursor to TJS) then why not?
Frenchsoup Verified Member Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 AA basically saying on the fan 590 that outfield isn't a need....could be your bye bye AA if you truly believe that.
DuckDuckGose Verified Member Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 There isn't a need for an external OF'er. They should have Pompey and Saunders for the 2nd half.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 Lance Lynn would look good in a Jays uni too.. Edwin + could make some sense for both teams. Tsunami Martinez over Lance Lynn for me. Do it AA
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 AA: "Clearly we're here to win games, to make the playoffs and to win the World Series." AA: "Someone we can have beyond the current year is appealing. Would work a little harder to acquire one of those guys." Tsunami Martinez again
DuckDuckGose Verified Member Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 No chance they move CMart If AA could make it happen they should extend him on the spot.
Frenchsoup Verified Member Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 There isn't a need for an external OF'er. They should have Pompey and Saunders for the 2nd half. Expecting anything more then replacement level from Pompey is fools gold and Saunders won't be back until it's to late...Ben Revere would be an easy target to attain and give you a ton of flexibility.
DuckDuckGose Verified Member Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 Saunders is supposed to be back after the AS break. They aren't going to compel someone to make a trade before then anyways and if it is too late it will be because of the pitching not the lineup.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 AA basically saying on the fan 590 that outfield isn't a need....could be your bye bye AA if you truly believe that. It isn't a need...we have Pompey and Saunders set to come up/back soon depending on the trades made. No need to lose more prospects when the options are not that much greater than our own internal solutions. Plus offense/defense isn't the main issue with the team.....Pitching is!

glory Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 AA apparently not a fan of adding a rental player. Other than Hamels, there isn't an ace available with multiple years of control left. I'm not sure there is a team willing to trade a good controllable starter in this market.

Think worse case scenario...What if Saunders doesn't come back or does come back not 100% he is replacement level most likely. What if one Bats or Pillar gets hurt? Which is possible because there playing everyday. Now if they all stay healthy that's great. Revere is still an upgrade over Valencia/Pompey.

What if Donaldson goes down? What if Travis gets hurt? What if a pitcher gets hurt? They're more set at OF than basically anywhere else on the diamond outside of 1B and C.

IronLadle Verified Member Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 Lance Lynn is signed through 2017 Why would the Cardinals trade him?
DuckDuckGose Verified Member Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 Yes they would be in trouble, but there is a hole in LF now and for the rest of the year why not fill it? I don't think it's a hole for the whole year, guess we'll have to disagree there.
DuckDuckGose Verified Member Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 Why would the Cardinals trade him? BC they're loaded with good arms and are playing Mark Reynolds every day. More realistically they move Jaime Garcia when he's back and healthy.

Davidi just said AA told him today, that Saunders is shut down until at the least August plus a month of rehab, he might not be back this season, wow. Now that suxxx.
