Agreed throwing harder.....but I wonder if the lowering of the mound back in 68 had anything to do with this. Just a few yrs after lowering it Tommy John had the first surgery

and it's been full bore on this procedure. Just might be a coincidence with the lowering of the mound and the TJ surgery but......

Theres always going to be exceptions.. But in general guys throw a lot harder now than they used to.
