gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 What if you get an elite SP under team control for several years in return? Yes, the jays are loaded with pitchers on the farm, and there is nothing wrong with having more pitching then you need in the future. Pitchers generally have more trade value. For Donaldson? Not doing it. Bautista can get you a young SP and a solid positional player in return before the ASB this year, easily.
BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 Donalson stays ... untouchable after today if ever there was a doubt! And before Spanky comes to beat me down.... Joey Batz is the logical choice here to be traded first! Say it again... Batz, Cecil, Shanchez and Castro to the Reds! Cueto and Chapman to the Jays ! Do it Ninja ... do it now!

Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 I wonder when it's better to trade, June or trade deadline? If you're one of the first sellers you might get someone being anxious but if you're at the trade deadline maybe someone gets desperate. More value at the deadline, especially with a top 10 bat.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 Bautista is kind of untradeable at the moment because of the shoulder injury. I mean we could trade him but I feel like we wouldn't get a great return right now. I'd wait until the offseason to deal him. We could move Eddy at the all-star break for a pretty good haul though. EE's near 3 years younger though?
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 Why? Two year deals for both at reasonable prices, get it done Agreed, it's tough to get ballplayers here in the 1st place, well, unless the return is irrefutable.
BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 Is Scutaro still available? Think he died or is done something like that! Lol
FrozenRopes Verified Member Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 I move RA to the bullpen. I fire AA, JG and PW. I call up Norris to replace RA. I call up Kawasaki.

Jayday Verified Member Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 Not sure if this has been said here, but if Dickey HAS to start, have martin as catcher. Why put in a struggling pitcher AND an anemic hitter in the same game? Thinking that Martin catching Dickey will ruin Martin is just silly. Jays need to score 7 runs just to have a realistic chance of winning, and with Martin they will get a few more much needed runs. Although this will not even get the jays close to the playoffs.

BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 Just get the Starters fixed and going 6-7 innings per game more then once or twice a week and the ship will right itself one would hope or think!
Nafro Verified Member Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 Where trade for = mysteriously acquire for free Well that would be ideal, and obviously unrealistic. You would move some of our system pitching for it. It depends what the Phillies and Brewers would want, whether you do the deals. Revere is apparently available and I would think Lohse is as well.
Nafro Verified Member Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 Other than Hoffman, Alford and Pentecost (because he's injured). Everyone should possibly be available for the right returns.

Lohse is struggling we already have 5 struggling starters
Jayday Verified Member Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 They did his last start? IIRC... Yes, and they should keep it that way. Just think we'd have a better chance with Martin. Don't need to be a Sherlock Holmes to come to this conclusion.
BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 Just say no to trades! Mamma let em play! Get it right in the off season for once... They are called Free agents for a reason Alex take one or two for f*** sakes!
