Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 lmao @ trading Donaldson. This guy is the heart and soul of the franchise. The leader of the team. Baseball in Canada. f*** you. Suck my cock. Billy Beane says hi
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 Rotation: Buehrle Hutchison Norris Boyd Dickey I wouldn't mind throwing Osuna into the rotation next year if he deserves it but he needs to build up his innings load. People are forgetting / might not even know that he had a very serious arm injury last year and has never thrown more than 100 IP. I think he's got a year of 35 and one of 45 IP. Not sure how much he pitched as a 16 year old in the Mexican league. At this pace he's going to shoot way past 45 innings pitched this year, unless his arm falls of which could happen pitching almost every day. Aiming at next year as a starting is not a bad idea. This year is unrealistic.

gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 Trade Donaldson for good cost controlled MLB starter, MLB reliever, and prospect...... kawasaki and valencia 3B platoon Retard alert..
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 Demote Sanchez to AA. Call up Norris to replace him in rotation. Promote Boyd and DSJ to AAA. If you don't agree, FUSMC.
BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 Jimmy may I call you jimmy Canuck please hand in your passport, don't let the door hit you on the way out of Canada! We will give it to Donaldson, thank you!
BTS Community Moderator Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 Is there a SP in baseball with as much trade value as JD? I really don't think so.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 Is there a SP in baseball with as much trade value as JD? Kershaw is up there although idk his contract
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 Is there a SP in baseball with as much trade value as JD? Corey Kluber?
Maahfaace Verified Member Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 Nah, jays have an abundance of hitting and a shortage of pitching. JD has the highest trade value of the big 3. Donaldson is a gem who AA robbed from oak. He's under team control for 4 years, trading him would be the stupidest thing you could do while ttying to win with this core. Moving bats or EE makes a Lil more sense

Even if this year is a lost year, you try to slap a 6-year extension + options on Donaldson and build around him. He's a franchise player.

I love them both so much but it's simply the right thing to do for the franchise imo.

GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 In July, maybe. I wonder when it's better to trade, June or trade deadline? If you're one of the first sellers you might get someone being anxious but if you're at the trade deadline maybe someone gets desperate.
Maahfaace Verified Member Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 I still think all this trade ******** should have been avoided this off season by signing some goddam pitching ffs

I love them both so much but it's simply the right thing to do for the franchise imo. Bautista is kind of untradeable at the moment because of the shoulder injury. I mean we could trade him but I feel like we wouldn't get a great return right now. I'd wait until the offseason to deal him. We could move Eddy at the all-star break for a pretty good haul though.
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 I wonder about moving 1 of Bautista or EE around deadline instead of trading away more prospects. Maybe package EE with Sanchez to a team for a young SP and position player. Jays shouldn't re-sign both anyway once their contracts are up.

Two year deals for both at reasonable prices, get it done
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 Why? Two year deals for both at reasonable prices, get it done I guess it depends on the deals, but I'd definitely look to see what you could get for either one of them.
BTS Community Moderator Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 Why? Two year deals for both at reasonable prices, get it done Think V-Mart money + for both.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 Retard alert.. Not a word I would use So what's your solution?

He's under team control for 4 years, trading him would be the stupidest thing you could do while ttying to win with this core. Moving bats or EE makes a Lil more sense I generally agree. But to get the cost controlled good young MLB starter, EE is not going to get it done.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 Why? Two year deals for both at reasonable prices, get it done Bautista will test free agency after the 2016 season, guaranteed. You can't trade both Bautista and EE, way too big a hole created. I would prefer to trade EE, but Bautista is probably the player most GMs will want. If Bautista's shoulder requires surgery to repair, AA will have to wait until the off season to trade him, but we'll get less in return for one season of Bautista versus a season and a half if he's healthy before the ASB.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 Is there a SP in baseball with as much trade value as JD? it wasn't just a SP, it was also a MLB reliever and a prospect. Matt Harvey, Alex Torres and some A level prospect
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 Not a word I would use So what's your solution? How can you even fathom trading a player with JD's value who us under team control through the 2019 season? You obviously trade Bautista or EE for pitching. The Jays will most likely not be able to afford Bautista after 2016,so may as well get something back while you can. If he returns to the outfield soon, I say trade him by the ASB for a haul.

Yes, the jays are loaded with pitchers on the farm, and there is nothing wrong with having more pitching then you need in the future. Pitchers generally have more trade value. The question is how to fix the jays which i interpret to mean an immediate fix to take a run at the postseason this year.
