I record most games I watch. I skip through every Thole at bat and 90% of Loup's pitches. I hate Loup and have got no faith in him. Thole is just a joke, an absolute noodled bat f***ing joke.

Honestly, Loup isn't that bad. His numbers are serviceable. He is prone, like a lot of middle relievers, to more than his share of occasional melt downs.

I just don't understand why, after he gives up a soft hit to a LHH we don't go the RHP to face Carter...who is struggling. I know Gibbys thinking on it but I don't agree.

In any case after he walks Carter its just clear its one of those nights for Loup and give em the hook.

I'm with you on Thole. He's become probably my least favourite Blue Jay ever. Hideously boring.

Actually, Toronto's pen is not close to the worst. Oakland and Seattle are worse, with higher ERAs and 10 losses. Not every team can have the Astros, Royals or Cardinals pen.

Loup had been pitching well.. like most mid-relievers, he was just off last night. He's still been a solid reliever this season. Thole's error, though, hurt.. we need to get rid of him now! Hope Navarro gets healthy soon.

Well a large chunk of the Astros pen was acquired through free agency this off-season. So you might make the arguement that the Jays could have had the Astros pen if they had wanted to.

There was nothing left. AA drained his resources on Reyes Burly and Dickey. No money left for relievers

Assuming he actually wanted to improve the pen

Especially if they want to overpay for relievers. Many teams are abandoning this because of the high volatility of relief pitching. It's still hard to say if the Astros will keep this up.. their starting pitching, despite Keuchel and McHugh, has issues. Their 3-5 starters(Hernandez, Feldman, and a grab bag of Peacock/Asher/Deduno) have been awful. And of course, the Angels are still a threat in their division. Of course, they're also winning because the AL West is utter trash.

LAA- can't hit, but are decent enough pitching wise (5th in the AL in ERA)

SEA- SP not really too bad, but that bullpen.. yuck! And they don't hit much outside of Nelson Cruz, with Cano and Seager both down compared to 2014.

TEX- Surprsingly, the SP hasn't been too much of a problem outside of Detwiler. Weak bullpen, and loads of offensive struggles, of which Odor was just sent down. Hamilton is on the way, though..

OAK- Hit very well, but that pitching (both starting and bullpen), along with terrible defense, are killing the team.

Houston's basically the best team in a very bad division.

Whether Houston's success lasts will depend if they can get help in the starting rotation. The rotation stinks after Keuchel and McHugh.

Yeah there might have been money for a reliever (singular) but certainly not for all the relievers that Houston signed unless Rogers was willing to go over last year's budget.

Actually, the bullpen has improved compared to last season. It's the starting pitching that's the issue.

So BP is just sub par now as oppose to horrible... still not nearly good enough. This pitching staff needs a major overhaul. Picking up an arm at the dead line will not be enough to help this team compete, we need like 3-4 new arms.
