Olerud363 Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 So the drinking started early today I see I'm being a bit silly. But in 1994 and 95 Delgado had slow starts... in 94 it was actually a slump after a hot start. He lost 30 homeruns or so because of that. Ended with 475 or whatever. By the same logic EE and Bautista should sit... and actually if they were 21 year old sluggers they probably would be headed to buffalo. Guys can look to bad or to good after a month. The organization should never give a player a roster spot unless they are willing to let the player work out of a slump. It sets a dangerous precedent. Young players will press knowing that there next slump means the minors.

The Pompey demotion was so much dumn, the guys approach is awesome at the plate, he played a bit scared in the OF, but sending him down so quickly as you pointed out, is egregious. Now our OF is a flippin joke.

Now our OF is a flippin joke. Our outfield is regularly filled with infielders It's a funny joke.

Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 From a sportsnet article "lovejays Rank 169 @Michael Roy Reyes D is not were it was but make no mistake, when he is healthy there are few better lead off hitters. He will make a positive impact this year.......but Goins is the SS of the future."

burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 lol Ryan Goins is older than Clayton Kershaw and Jason Heyward.
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 Ryan Goins is older than Clayton Kershaw and Jason Heyward. I think they think he's 21 or 22 and has hit like top 100 prospect in the minors. Casual fans just say stuff without looking it up

Casual fans just say stuff without looking it up more than likely. I honestly don't fault casual fans in Toronto too much. When you learn baseball by watching/listening Buck and Pat you are going to believe a bunch of BS since Buck and Pat give the wrong messages.

I disagree, as most announcers do, they're there to ease casuals in, after that, it's on the fan to engage themselves with advanced stats, etc, etc...if they don't so be it. Yet, to announce opinions as an ignorant fool is on them. P.S. This is not an only Toronto fanbase issue.
