LOVethISTEam Verified Member Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 It's true though, Edwin was 50/50 to strike out. Either he strikes out or he doesn't. That's how it works, right?
Statman Verified Member Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 2 of those Ls have come from teams scoring on a wild pitch, hbp, and walking in 3 runs now Yup. Some bad luck and the low probability of walking in runs has us at 4-3 instead of 5-1 and we haven't seen anything close to the best out of our 3 best positional players and arguably our best hitter (Encarnacion).

havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 Season is over! Fire everyone! Trade Bautista, Donaldson, Encarnacion, and bring in some gritty veterans to the ball club! Who cares about talent when you don't play the game the right way and have the will to win.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 Only highlight of the home opener for me:
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 I won't action this request because it's too stupid... there's been how many games? I guarantee you Gibby wasnt looking at career stats when making a decision...thats only for comp nerds who dont understand in baseball every game/at bat is diff
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 Geez, people, it's only one game! If you want to see teams in trouble, look at the Brewers, Twins, Marlins.. even the White Sox have been awful to start. And Odorizzi is actually quite good.. as I've said, this may be his breakout season. But will he get enough run support?
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 It's true though, Edwin was 50/50 to strike out. Either he strikes out or he doesn't. That's how it works, right? 50/50 to K, 50/50 to walk, 50/50 to foul it off, 50/50 to HBP, 50/50 to watch a wild pitch go by... Yeah well, he's a knuckleballer. That's kind of his gig and it comes with the territory. So saying it's "unforgivable" is just plain dumb. No, it isn't. You could make the same argument for any pitcher. "He's got great stuff but needs to harness it; walking 8 guys just comes with the territory!" Dickey handed the other team two runs when he was nearly out of the inning. He put himself in position to make it much worse several times, too. Higher standards would do you well. Manners too.

Ordorizzi is a breakout candidate according to jaysfan2014.

Who cares about talent when you don't play the game the right way and have the will to win. We've got it backwards this whole time. Instead of giving Navarro away to the Diamondbacks, we should swap the rest of the team with the Diamondbacks' and bring them here to join Navarro!
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 Pompey having a hard time with the outside pitch....this super scout thinks.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 You realize you asked me for his YTD K% numbers on 3-2 counts right? That's like 4-5 ABs. Good sample-size to base your decisions off! KingKat thanks you for this post? Daf***? Good for you...in baseball the last few at bats are more important to the moment then the previous 10000. I have been around the majors my whole life, from World Series winners to current major leagues to minor leaguers and everything in between. I lnow the game better than most. Dislike my opinion if you want, but I know what is going on from the players to the coaches.

JFD Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 the Jays are highly skilled but have too many flaws. sort of like the Leafs. why you build teams like this Toronto?
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 You just went full retard. Never go full retard. Its not my problem you are a mental midget, good day Go Blue Jays

intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 You just went full retard. Never go full retard. Not sure if serious. Awkward defeated reply is awkward. If I were ever asked to sum up the internet to a space alien, I'd just point to all of ODoyle's posts on this page.
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 Jays are currently holding down the 2nd wildcard....let's go bluejays!

TheHurl Site Manager Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 You all be happy to know that I still refused to openly cheer the Rays, just because it's the opener (and although I think I would have been okay tonight, generally it would open me up to getting the s*** kicked out of me). I went in my Bisons t-shirt as I did last year as well. I did fist pump on the strike em out, throw em out DP though. Really dead crowd there tonight.
Arjun Nimmala Vancouver Canadians - A+ SS It's been slow going at the start of the season for Nimmala, but on Sunday, he was 3-for-5 with his 3rd home run and 3 RBI. Explore Arjun Nimmala News >
