43211234 Verified Member Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 You guys are in for a world of hurt. I don't think so. My head says 87-88 would be a better prediction but I wanted to guess a nice round 90.
Olerud363 Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 With the 25-man roster announced today and opening day in New York City less than a week away, it's prime time to start the annual prediction thread. I'll start it off. 78. Too many question marks and reliance on the young and unproven guys. The team could be f'd if 1 or 2 of the 6 (Sanchez, Norris, Pompey, Travis, Osuna, Castro) cant cut it. 79 The Stroman injury I think it costs 11 wins. I will exppain. First Sanchez just got rocked today, that is the real Sanchez I think... so I figure he goes 2-7 5.67 then even worse crap replaces him. Stroman (no injury) - 19-8 2.95 7 WARs Jays win 90 Replacements - 6-14 5.22 -1 WARS Jays win 79 The other 3 wins are because it changes the dynamic around the trade deadline as well, sell on July 31 not buy. So Stroman costs 11 wins. It ended early March this year. Such is our destiny. Eternal dissapointment, no hope, nothing nice. Stroman would of given to many hope so he had to be eliminated.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 What is a "GordieDougie"? Annoying little Jewish kid
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 81 Too many pitching holes, and still too many injury risks
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 Losing Stroman was huge, imagine no Halladay. Team had an Ace, but hey such is life. What the heck, ElNik ain'g going down without a fight... 88 for the playoffs!!!
theblujay Verified Member Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 Gotta love how easy it is to see in this thread which group continues to be the eternal pessimists.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 Can I say 86.5 or would that be too nerdy
BTS Community Moderator Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 Can I say 86.5 or would that be too nerdy If you have to ask...
Laika Community Moderator Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 wow, going with your gut? I like the boys assembled. I see 4 legit SP, a murderers row offense, a much improved defense, and if I put blinders on and only think about 2015 it's even possible to be optimistic about what the two kids in the bullpen will do for the team.
Laika Community Moderator Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 Can I say 86.5 or would that be too nerdy Well considering it's a "Win Prediction Thread", it would just be f***ing stupid.
Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 86, and they make the playoffs. Parity and a power shift to the NL makes it happen.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 Annoying little Jewish kid Now all grown up to be an annoying little Howie. I'll go with 85. And a big trade in June.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 I'll give them 75 wins and fourth place. Stroman's loss too much to overcome and the young pitchers like Osuna and Castro prove to be too young to handle the tough AL east. On a positive not Gibbons is fired after this year and possibly AA also. Gibbons will prove once again unable to coach the players to play fundamental baseball such as successful bunting and moving runners over. Encanacion's back will put him back on the disabled list this year. Yeah, we will lose because we don't needlessly give up enough outs.
guylaroche5 Verified Member Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 despite all the uncertainty I'm gonna go with 87
