Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 Solid asset management by the Jays once again.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 I would have liked to see how Drabek would do in relief.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 He's not good anymore guys. The Drabek of 3 years ago is nothing like the one today. Nothing of value was lost.
BTS Community Moderator Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 I have my doubts that Osuna or Catsro is a better reliever than Drabek this year.

Stuff and control is better And the mental game, I'm pretty f***ing sure it's better than Kyle "Hothead" Drabek I remember how angry he'd get that you could see his face swell.
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 I have my doubts that Osuna or Catsro is a better reliever than Drabek this year. I would put money on Castro being better this year then Drabek
TheHurl Site Manager Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 Jays claim a 27 year old former top prospect bust...many on this board claim the player is the next EE or Bautista. Jays dump a former top prospect...it's nothing he will never have any worth.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 I have my doubts that Osuna or Catsro is a better reliever than Drabek this year. I have a hard time seeing that. You can't always just look at projections. Their stuff and command is a lot better.

closetjaysfan Verified Member Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 Drabek's arm is as shriveled as his options. He had lots of chances, I wish him best of luck but I highly doubt this will be something that we come to regret.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 I have my doubts that Osuna or Catsro is a better reliever than Drabek this year. The value would be keeping them in the minors and stretched out in case of injuries. That's probably more valuable than the likely very marginal upgrade they might provide over Drabek in the pen.

Edit: I don't think the majority would dare to think the jays can strike gold with Valencia or any other 27 year old waiver claim.
BTS Community Moderator Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 I would be surprised if Drabek was better. Why not just have all three?
TheHurl Site Manager Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 I would put money on Castro being better this year then Drabek Drabek is a great example of why starting the clock on Castro and Osuna is dangerous. If they are sent down and still have stuff to work on...they will be 24 and 23 when you have to make your "keep em up, or dump em" decision.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 What? Are you saying this is the majority or minority? many fans mindset. I won't say the majority but certainly not uncommon.

Once one of them has Tommy John Surgery twice I'll be more concerned than getting sent down or up.
BTS Community Moderator Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 Well I would rather Guilmet/West to all. Yeah. TBH I don't really give a s*** about Drabek. I'm just whining because it's dumn that Catsro and Osuna are making the team.
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 The McGowan/drabek/morrow era has ended.

Excellent point, in a ideal non-lame duck situation they would be in minor league camp.
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 The McGowan/drabek/morrow era has ended. I went from rooting for Dusty to helping him pack.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 I think I'm okay with Castro on the team but I didn't really want Osuna on the team. Osuna could have been that depth in the minors and his value is as a starter.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 Goodbye Drabek. 25-man roster, not 50-man roster.
flafson Verified Member Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 AA is in dire situation, i don't blame him for going all in. If we don't make the playoffs and they fire him, he has nothing to show for the last 5 years besides saying the farm was so good that we could trade for players. If we do make the playoffs he can show continual growth from his farm that led to success in the majors.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 Yeah. TBH I don't really give a s*** about Drabek. I'm just whining because it's dumn that Catsro and Osuna are making the team. And that they didn't try Drabek as a major league reliever earlier to see if he had anything. They may not have felt the need to convert their good stuff guys and start their clocks
