HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Where's "Shipley" coming from? Read this article. It's a good one. http://www.sportsnet.ca/baseball/mlb/aaron-sanchez-gets-shot-blue-jays-starter/
Laika Community Moderator Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Wilner "This is as dominating as you can get". 1 K, 1 BB lol. I saw domino sting
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 I saw domino sting I did too i want to know what kind of dominos he plays??
baubau Verified Member Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Even if Martin regresses a lot he is still a lot better hitter than Pompey. Honestly I see Pompey being the worst hitter in the lineup with everyone healthy. He is going to strike out quite a bit and I don't know if you want that batting 2nd. His walk rate (10%) and strikeout rate (17%) were all better than average last year in the minors. Even if you expect a jump in his strikeout rate of lets say 10% more at 27%, that is better than Rasmus and on par with Gose. I don't see that large of a K spike and neither do any other projections (worst is ZiPS at 24.4%). Saunders is projected to strike out just as much if not a little more than Pompey. I am sure there will be growing pains but I don't see strikeouts being as big of a concern. He may not bat second and that is fine. He should excel on the no. 9 spot and sets up well with the top of the order ahead of him.
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Autocorrect is a bitch. 2 more swinging strikes this inning. 1 on a change. Is that five or six?
abola2121 Verified Member Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 For all the grief Sanchez gets on this forum, I've haven't seen many posts wishing that Tijuan Walker was drafted instead of him.
baubau Verified Member Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Swinging K. 7 swinging strikes now. Clearly Sanchez read this forum and got his s*** together. Now develop that consistent 3rd/4th pitches to really shut us up Sanczhy.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Six now. But 4 against terrible hitters who swing away. I'm with you on swinging strikes being valuable... I'm not really with you on dividing swinging strikes into "this is good" and "yeah, but it was a free swinger, so it only counts for half".
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Six now. But 4 against terrible hitters who swing away. But if he didn't have that many swinging strikes, he would be scolded. Lose-lose
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Safe to say Edwins eye is fine 2 walks today....
SaskJaysFan_2 Verified Member Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 I think this year they can help this team out a ton in the pen over the other options we have. Next year they can go back to being starters. I don't see what the big problem is. I think mostly service time. We don't want any super twos. I would rather keep, say, a Delabar and a scrub like Drabek up for a couple weeks then demote/promote accordingly. Delabar can be sent down, then a Drabek might clear waivers and make it down.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Where's "Shipley" coming from? One night, a guy met a hot girl, invited her a beer.....later that night, they ended having tremendous sex in a cheap motel room. The condom they used was made in china, the condom broke, and they created this beautiful creature to which they called Aaron, Aaron Shipley
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Who is hitting behind him? Donaldson.

Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Not quite but I like this story too That's the way how we met women here, Latino America. The next day she calls you "Hey Papi chulo, I'm pregnant with your son, send me some cash."
glory Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Sanchez really is Henderson Alvarez.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 One more swinging strike in the 5th (9 now), 2 FB, and a GB. North's game score please
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Sanchez really is Henderson Alvarez. I'd be very content with that. It would mean a very dramatic reduction in walks.
BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Ideally, I want Castro and Osuna starting in the minors today, so perhaps they're prepared to start later this year if needed, or next year. I just don't think they're particularly valuable bullpen pieces compared to what they could be as starters. If your always looking to Win tomorrow you'll never Win today! Next thing you know you have not been to the World Series or won a division title in twenty years! Sometimes like life you have to commit and go all in! Just saying
S33n Verified Member Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 North's game score please Yes please
pickoff22 Verified Member Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 If Sanchez is a good pitcher why can't he strike anyone out? >6.5 K/9 this spring isn't exactly not striking anyone out. Plenty of good starters with strikeout levels well below Sanchez.
S33n Verified Member Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 I like Joe Siddal as a colour guy, but he should stop doing play by play.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 >6.5 K/9 this spring isn't exactly not striking anyone out. Plenty of good starters with strikeout levels well below Sanchez. Doug Fister?
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 anyone know Shipley's pitch count? If he only pitched 5 innings at this put in ST, I'd wager someonwhere at 60-70 pitches?
pickoff22 Verified Member Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 No. It's 18.1 IP 9 K or < 4.5K/9 Oh my bad, you're right. Historically much higher though. Doesn't cause me alarm.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Luis Gracia is good, i like him. He was working as a barber when some guy tell him "Can you come with me to a showcase?" Garcia, a former pitcher threw 96 mph and got the check.
pickoff22 Verified Member Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Doug Fister? Yup. Fister, Porcello, Alvarez to name a few
