Art Vandelay Verified Member Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 Said something up to 400 million they are willing to spend. May as well build a baseball stadium this time. And get it right this time. There's nowhere to build one! Come on, everyone says "Just build a new one". Where would you put it?
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 (edited) The current stadium is in the perfect position. It might need a bit of remodeling, but there's no reason to build a new one. Edited March 19, 2015 by Orgfiller

I have a better idea. Make it a 300m retrofit, and then add 20m/yr in payroll for the next 5 years so the team could try to make the playoffs. That would mean signing international players like Cubans, that other teams such as the Red Sox are doing.

BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 Could a complete retro fit even be done in one off season? What then? Hello Vancouver!

Part of this upgrade should go to purchasing the rights to 'SkyDome'. Rogers SkyDome! Fulfil your destiny!

Art Vandelay Verified Member Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 Retrofit is the best idea, because you can do it in stages. And because there is very little space to build a new stadium. A lot of condos and office buildings are being planned. Here's what the waterfront will probably look like in the future: http://urbantoronto.ca/sites/default/files/imagecache/display-default/images/projects/7343/urbantoronto-7343-25090.jpg

Art Vandelay Verified Member Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 I don't know what that is, so no.
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 Fangraphs is where all the fancy stats come from? Nah, the stats (FIP, linear weights) come from Tom Tango. Fangraphs just presents them.
