I thought he would want Navarro because Navarro is an obvious upgrade to his team. Navarro isn't great, but he's a clear improvement...

I'm fine with carrying Navarro. The only reason I ever really wanted him gone was to free up his salary for someone like Neshek, Lowrie, Crain or Badenhop. Also because I hate him. But he's not a useless piece, as long as they don't criminally misuse him, which in all fairness is probably something they'll do.

 

I'd much rather have Weeks taking the salary and roster spot that Navarro is, but oh well.

Yeah, I think Gibbons is good, as far as managers go, but there's no way he uses Navarro as sparingly as he should be used (if he's still with the team...)

Gibbons will misuse him. Edwin hurting his back might temper down some of Gibby's insanity, but I think we'll see Navarro getting way too many DH AB's regardless.

Two young catching prospects neither of which can actually play the position nor hit enough to make up for it. What could possilby go wrong for the Diamondbacks? Navarro would actually represent a defensive upgrade for them which is something to really wrap your head around.
