KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Norris' day is over. Some location issues at times but he made adjustments and looks like the starter the Jays need.
S33n Verified Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Sanchez, Norris, Stroman and Hutchison... The future is looking very bright!
baubau Verified Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Martin decided to breakdance on a wild pitch.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Infante is as expected, throwing a lot of heat, WP into the backstop as the runners advance to 2nd and 3rd, respectively. Pirela hits a sharp line drive right to Gindl, A-Rod broke forward so he didn't tag.
Governator Community Moderator Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Norris should start in AAA to gain an extra year of control. The 5th starter isn't needed very often in April anyway...Estrada can give us one spot start if needed, then up comes Norris. This also helps limit Norris's innings...which is necessary. From April 8th to May 7th they have 1 day off, why wouldn't they need a 5th starter?
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 (edited) Norris resume please. 3.1 IP, 4 Ks, 1 BB, 3 H. Edited March 14, 2015 by KingKat
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Infante struggling with the fastball command, it's been twice that Martin has made great plays to get bouncing fastballs. Full count.
bronson44 Verified Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Navarro would have allowed 3 wild pitches in this AB
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Infante walks the hitter on a breaking ball that gets away from Martin, but not far enough to score the runner.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Walk to load the bases. Infante looking Jeffress like so far.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 First pitch groundball to Travis, who flips it to Goins to end the inning.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Ground ball inning over. Infante escapes unscathed with a big assist from Martin.
S33n Verified Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 What do you think the chances are that we see a rotation of: Stroman, Norris, Sanchez, Hutchison and Osuna next year? The long shot there would be Osuna, but how far away is he? I know he only just turned 20, but he's always pitched well ahead of the age curve.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Norris interview: It's a thumb blister. Norris said he didn't feel so great. Credits Martin for helping him get through without his best stuff.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Norris being interviewed. He confirms that he has a blister on the top of his thumb, didn't bother him. Says that he felt his stuff wasn't very sharp but he went out there anyways to compete.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Norris credits Martin and the pitching coaches for helping him succeed.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Donaldson works a full count from being down 0-2. He strikes out swinging on a ball away.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Norris says he's hard on himself, wants to hit on every pitch.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Viciedo hits a weak blooper to RF, awful misplay by Beltran, Viciedo jogs into second.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Strike zone is nowhere near as wide for us.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Norris models himself after Kershaw.
baubau Verified Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Norris: - bilster on thumb - didn't feel sharp today // felt that he was inconsistent - credited Martin on his ability and enjoyed pitching to him - stated he isn't a prideful person and wanted to learn further on becoming a better pitcher working with Pete Walker to make changes - wants to "attack" guys, throw strikes and why he wanted to work on a more repeatable delivery with the pitching staff - was impressed that Dickey was impressed he could get his car in reverse - states its fun to be part of the home grown talent that is coming up with the Jays - looks to Clayton Kershaw // loves his stuff and ability
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Smoak gets called out on strikes, pitches that one shouldn't complain about, but it's exactly the pitches that Norris didn't get even with Martin's framing.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Pompey grounds out to second to end the inning.
baubau Verified Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Smoak gets called out on strikes, pitches that one shouldn't complain about, but it's exactly the pitches that Norris didn't get even with Martin's framing. It started out well for Smoak as well being up 2-0 on the count. I think he does have a decent eye at the plate and can see why he has a career 10% BB but don't think he is confident with his swing. I know I've repeated it a few times. It may actually be best for him to be in the minors to start the season to work / change that swing.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Steve Delabar in the game. Josh Thole as well.
Arjun Nimmala Vancouver Canadians - A+ SS It's been slow going at the start of the season for Nimmala, but on Sunday, he was 3-for-5 with his 3rd home run and 3 RBI. Explore Arjun Nimmala News >
