TDotttt2005 Verified Member Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Sign Rafael Soriano, Put Sanchez into Stroman's spot. Please.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Go for broke IMHO. Put Norris and Sanchez in the rotation.
TDotttt2005 Verified Member Posted March 10, 2015 Author Posted March 10, 2015 Sanchez isnt depth if we're counting on him to be the closer, or high leverage bullpen guy. Either way, we were thin enough using 'internal options' to address the bullpen with Sanchez pretty much penciled in there.
TDotttt2005 Verified Member Posted March 10, 2015 Author Posted March 10, 2015 We shouldn't be counting on him for anything. If thats the case, you're counting on Norris and Estrada instead?
ScientificReason Verified Member Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 sanchez is not ready to be an everyday starter at this level..........if he is starting things are dire...well they pretty much are.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Sanchez & Norris in rotation Castro/Mexican in BP. Remove Sanchez a month in and replace with Santana.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Norris Estrada in the Rotation have Sanchez starting in AAA.....
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Randall Delgado or Zach McAcallistA
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Sanchez + Pentecost for Hamels + Papelbon (wouldn't actually want Papelbon) I was going to say i bet Amaro is blowing up AAs phone lol.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 It will be Sanchez and Norris, with Estrada in the pen. Wouldn't surprise me if Castro makes it now. What a disaster, and Rogers won't give two shits, so don't expect the money to get Hamels/Papelbon.
ScientificReason Verified Member Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 I was going to say i bet Amaro is blowing up AAs phone lol. AA forgot he had it on mute since December.
Gorlak Verified Member Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Norris and Sanchez aren't stretched out enough to pitch 200 innings anyway. It will have to be a combination of the 3 unless AA brings somebody in.
reedjohnsonfan Verified Member Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Sanchez + Pentecost for Hamels + Papelbon (wouldn't actually want Papelbon) Why wouldn't you want Papelbon if they ate some cash? He's not what he used to be but still a useful reliever.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Sanchez + Pentecost for Hamels + Papelbon (wouldn't actually want Papelbon) I mean I would do this but Hamels' contract... eughh
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 It will be interesting to see how they approach it. Unfortunately, I think they'll continue in the "win now" mode to save Gibby and AA's job (which in AA's case is ludicrous) even though their chances of success are cut in half like Stroman's ACL. They should be leaving Norris in AAA to avoid starting his arbitration clock. Start with Sanchez (give him a shot to start - just to say you did) and Estrada - give Sanchez's bullpen spot to one of the 349 arms AA brought in (West preferably) and then bring up Norris later on once it's obvious Sanchez isn't (and may never be) ready to be a ML starter. I'd prefer to just deal Sanchez now while his value is high, however, I suspect instead they'll give him a shot to start (he's been AA's golden child for 3-4 years now). I'd rather see that happen and his trade value plummet (with the outside chance he does succeed) than start the arbitration clock on Norris early. As Gorlak said - they are going to need more than 2 starters, as neither of the young guys are ready for 200 innings.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Sanchez + Pentecost for Hamels + Papelbon (wouldn't actually want Papelbon) Jesus wouldn't that be nice?
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Randall Delgado or Zach McAcallistA Is Ang jumping on my McAllister train? allllll aboard!
pickoff22 Verified Member Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 I mean I would do this but Hamels' contract... eughh I don't find that contract all that appalling, same age as Lester with less commitment and slightly lower AAV. Of course I don't think there's a chance in hell that ownership would allow for that type of add in salary, but it doesn't scare me off.
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 I mean I would do this but Hamels' contract... eughh Hamels' contract is great.
BlueJaysGirl Verified Member Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 No thank you. Dickey Hutch Buehrle Norris Estrada Depth - Sanchez No thank you. Estrada's numbers are better in relief. He stays in 'pen. Norris and Sanchez start. Or we trade for Hamels and raid the farm. I don't want that.
pickoff22 Verified Member Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Phillies laugh at you They may not if you are willing to take on Paps contract.
tercet Verified Member Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 You guys seriously think Sanchez will be a starter? FFS
tpurewal97 Verified Member Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Dickey Hutchison Buhurle Sanchez Norris Castro makes pen. Still hanging on to hope they move fat f*** for a decent reliever. This seems like the most logical choice
pickoff22 Verified Member Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 No I still don't think they will do that. They are going to want 3 blue chips. Besides Max Pentecost is hurt. Well considering you're dealing with Amaro you're probably right.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 I live in a perpetual state of Step 2.
Zaun of the Dead Verified Member Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Estrada will have to have a pretty great spring to supplant Beaver or Norris in the rotation at this point. And yeah Castro and / or Osuna definitely make the team.
