Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 Ken Rosenthal Sources: #BlueJays in agreement with Viciedo.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 oh god damnit milb only please and never see the 25 man
BTS Community Moderator Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 Even if it's only a minor league deal, I'd prefer not to have him. This team is not above giving hundreds of plate appearances to a terrible player.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 If they actually spent any money on him its really disappointing. He's garbage and would be a complete waste of a roster spot.

NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 It's a minor league deal. I'm fine with this.
BTS Community Moderator Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 It's a minor league deal. I'm fine with this. Do you really see a situation in which Viciedo doesn't get 300+ PA, even on a minor league deal?
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 Do you really see a situation in which Viciedo doesn't get 300+ PA, even on a minor league deal? Yes, because Saunders will be back. And I don't think we had markedly better options than Viciedo for the first couple weeks of April.
BTS Community Moderator Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 Yes, because Saunders will be back. And I don't think we had markedly better options than Viciedo for the first couple weeks of April. Let's throw $20 down on it. Barring injury, Vicieco sees 299.5 PA.
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 Let's throw $20 down on it. Barring injury, Vicieco sees 299.5 PA. I would be amicable to that. We'd need language on 'barring injury.' How about 'neither Saunders nor Pompey spend 30 days on the DL.'
Laika Community Moderator Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 Only 26 years old, controllable through 2017, minor league deal, probably some upside. ok
BTS Community Moderator Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 I would be amicable to that. We'd need language on 'barring injury.' 299.5 PA O/U No action if Viciedo changes organizations or has more than one 15 day DL stint.
Laika Community Moderator Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 Also, amazing nickname http://m.mlb.com/video/v36234729/mincws-viciedo-smacks-a-walkoff-homer-to-left/?query=viciedo http://m.mlb.com/video/v35930455/cwsmin-viciedo-launches-a-tworun-homer-to-left/?player_id=493364 http://m.mlb.com/video/v34114785/cwstor-viciedo-hammers-a-goahead-threerun-shot/?player_id=493364 Get him in camp with Donaldson and Bautista, get that leg kick going way up to his nipples, and you've got another RHH monster.
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 299.5 PA O/U No action if Viciedo changes organizations or has more than one 15 day DL stint. Oh, you wanted Viciedo not getting hurt. I wouldn't agree to not changing organizations. I think he could get DFA'd and claimed after performing poorly.
jayswin11 Verified Member Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 As a minor league deal I really like this. Why wouldn't you. Maybe he turns out to be EE 2.0 and if not, he can hit some bombs in Buffalo.
BTS Community Moderator Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 Oh, you wanted Viciedo not getting hurt. I wouldn't agree to not changing organizations. I think he could get DFA'd and claimed after performing poorly. OK, that's fair.
Gorlak Verified Member Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 Do you really see a situation in which Viciedo doesn't get 300+ PA, even on a minor league deal? That is only going to happen if Saunders goes down again, I think Saunders injury made him realize he has no depth in the outfield since Dirks health isn't a guarantee.
Gorlak Verified Member Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 Yes, because Saunders will be back. And I don't think we had markedly better options than Viciedo for the first couple weeks of April. I'm loathed to say this, but Pillar.
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 OK, that's fair. So how about O/U 299.5, no action if Saunders misses 25+ games with injury.
Laika Community Moderator Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 http://m.mlb.com/video/v27112331/cwsmin-viciedo-goes-backtoback-with-dunn/?c_id=mlb http://m.mlb.com/video/topic/0/v35930455/cwsmin-viciedo-launches-a-tworun-homer-to-left hopefully he makes the squad f*** WAR. Kevin Pillar is a terribly boring player.
BTS Community Moderator Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 So how about O/U 299.5, no action if Saunders misses 25+ games with injury. Agreed, but if he gets 300 PA despite missing the time I win.
Laika Community Moderator Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 Boring is not the word I'd choose to describe him with I guess if you find defense-first, fringe CF hackers exciting, then he's a treat for the eyes.
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 Agreed, but if he gets 300 PA despite missing the time I win. What do you mean? We can move to the wagers thread.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted March 1, 2015 Author Posted March 1, 2015 Viciedo isn't good at baseball' I hate him
gbill2004 Verified Member Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 The plan is to use him in the OF, 1B, 3B and DH.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 As a minor league deal I really like this. Why wouldn't you. Maybe he turns out to be EE 2.0 and if not, he can hit some bombs in Buffalo. Highly unlikely to amount to anything and it will take at bats from MILB'ers
BTS Community Moderator Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 What do you mean? We can move to the wagers thread. I mean I don't want to lose if he gets 400 PA and then misses September with an injury. I've had someone void a bet in that manner before.
