Swervin81 Verified Member Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 That was pretty Reed Johnson-esque by Tabata. His elbow dipped far too low to be just in a preswing motion and coincidental. It followed the trajectory of the pitch too. Should never have been awarded 1st.
nmrch Verified Member Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 I think knowing the situation in a 6-0 game with two outs, you don't try to mess with history being made in that type of way which is bush league. Sure get a base hit or walk on 4 pitches. Don't lean into a pitch which he could have easily got out of the way of. In a 1-0 or 2-0 game, sure I don't have a problem with it since your goal as the hitter is to get on-base anyway you can to get the tying or go-ahead run to the plate in that situation, though in a 6-0 game get real! So you think its on the hitters to go out of their way to preserve a perfect game, that's just crazy to me. Tabata did nothing abnormal, he dropped his elbow in an attempt to get out of the way, i can see why people would think he dropped it to get hit but that's a very common reaction to that pitch.
nmrch Verified Member Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 And why aren't we blaming Scherzer for going that far inside, he would gotten pretty much any call, all of this is on him and the catcher. If he didn't care about risking a HBP and ruining the perfect game when he went inside why should Tabata?
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 What difference does it make. Perfect games are a dime a dozen these days everyone is throwing them.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 Matt West back with the Dodgers again because Josh Ravin's been overused. Hopefully he actually gets some games..
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 Clearly he didn't try much to get out of the way. Pretty cheesey way to break up a perfecto. Id say it's the perfect way. It's the pitchers job to get the batter out....don't throw inside with a breaking ball with 1 strike to go on a perfect game if you can't handle hitting the batter. It was a dumb pitch
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 What difference does it make. Perfect games are a dime a dozen these days everyone is throwing them. Less than 30 in the history of baseball...try again Edit: would have been the 24th.
thatoneguy Old-Timey Member Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 Wow Tabata just went straight to the top of my "biggest douches in MLB" list. That pitch was going to miss him by like 6" and he sticks his elbow out, what a prick. This is the reason I hate Shane Victorino, but this takes it to a whole new level.
LTR Verified Member Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 f***ing low move there man, if it was a close game sure why not, but it wasn't. Just wow.
Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 Welp, Tampa up 3-0 in the first. Don't think they will ever f***ing lose.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 Lol wtf is this Rays s***..f*** this gay earth
BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 With rum in hand I ask would adam Ottavino be a name as a option for our closer? His numbers look good to me, but I don't do xfrip or Sierra or whatever you kids use these days! Lol He is 29 what would we have to give up ?

Hate to disappoint you, but Ottavino is out for the season due to Tommy John surgery. Do your research.
BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 Whoops I was looking at stats thanks tips!
BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 Ok question can Cecil Loup and Hutch be sent down to the minors and be or get fixed ? Maybe who ever fixed Delbar and shaking them up will light the fire in em! Slide boyd norris and I don't know who else up for a bit !
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 Rays bullpen is going to get even more taxed.. Erasmo Ramirez just left the game with a groin injury.
BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 Ok wade Davis from Kc ? Should I try again or make a list ? Is he injuried ! Lol
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 We are witnessing the fall of the Detroit Tigers.. they're losing 4-0 to the Yankees (dammit!) Do you think it's time to blow up the Tigers roster? The team needs a rebuild.. or they're going to end up like the Phillies.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 I wish Kevin Cash was our manager. Can't believe he was in the Jays org and they let him go.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 Ok wade Davis from Kc ? Should I try again or make a list ? Is he injuried ! Lol Why do I even respond? Wade Davis isn't going anywhere, not with the Royals leading the division by a mile.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 I wish Kevin Cash was our manager. Can't believe he was in the Jays org and they let him go. The glory won't last for Cash when his overworked bullpen starts costing him games by July or August. And they're still waiting for Moore to return.
BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 Why do I even respond? Wade Davis isn't going anywhere, not with the Royals leading the division by a mile. Ok sorry buddy!
BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 I will shut up now I been drinking rum since the Ra dickey thread! Sorry Ya'll
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 What is it with the Royals and the AL East? Red Sox are beating KC.. is it the crappy starting pitching the Royals have?
Swervin81 Verified Member Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 So the Tigers are falling apart rapidly at the rate of last season's Leafs. Someone get AA on the phone with DD and try and get Price + Soria.
Swervin81 Verified Member Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 And at least Minnesota lost so we're still just 1 game back of the 2nd wildcard.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 I wish Kevin Cash was our manager. Can't believe he was in the Jays org and they let him go. Lol

jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 Well I was wrong... just when I thought Boston turned the corner, Porcello craps the bed again.. and Sandoval got hurt with a potential leg injury. (and made a costly error at 3B). KC now leads 6-4. If he's DL bound, at least they'll have Brock Holt playing 3B for 2-3 weeks.. but they'll need to purchase a backup infielder due to Bianchi's DFA (Marrero?)
