8 years 24 million for Maeda.

Over 10 million per year in incentives

That is a very low risk, high reward deal.

8 years, jesus

but hell even if he fails as a starter, 3 mill a year for a bullpen piece is a bargain these days

That's so unorthodox.

not only is it unorthodox if he had made the same deal with any other team, but the fact that the free spending Dodgers were willing to get that deal..

Dodgers aren't so free spending. They would like to get under the tax threshold for one year at least

Kershaw

Maeda

Kazmir

Ryu

Anderson

Wood

6 man rotation ? There #6 would probably be our #2/3

EDIT : Forgot they have Brandon McCarthy as well , that gives them 7 legit starters.

I'll take the Jays in a World Series matchup against those lefties. Not that we're better, but it's a nice matchup.

The problem is that Kazmir, Ryu, Anderson and McCarthy all have injury history/issues. Only Kershaw and maybe Maeda(depending how he adapts to the US game) can be trusted.

From the Boston Globe....

1. Andrew Miller, LHP, Yankees — It’s more likely that the Yankees will keep their uber-bullpen intact rather than trade Miller, according to a major league source. Teams like Houston and Toronto have inquired about Miller, but the Yankees want back a young top-of-the-rotation starter, and that doesn’t appear to be available to them. Lance McCullers was the target in Houston, but he is off-limits. The Blue Jays would have to give up someone such as Marcus Stroman, and that’s just not happening.

Stroman for Miller? Wtf! NOPE.

Article also says we checked in on Rodney.

Marcus Stroman and McCullers for an inferior relief pitcher on a free agent deal. Okay

No, Miller is signed through 18, but yes, no thanks.

I don't think Stroman is enough to Land Miller. Probably we have to include Donaldson too and add a prospect kicker like Alford

Attagirl, Robert.

I can't see the Jays trading away a SP for a reliever after the Chavez trade.

There's a lot of people in this thread being faceticious bro.

No, but judging from the Giles and Kimbrel trades, other teams are.

I'm glad to say that I have 100% faith that Shapiro would not allow such a stupid trade.

Anthopoulos on the other hand...

i can't decide which is worse:

1) Stro for Miller

2) d'Arnaud and Thor for Dickey
