Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 Damn. Lowe got 2 years, 13 mil. Probably wise to pass on that.

HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 Looks like the Red Sox just robbed the Mariners...
BTS Community Moderator Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 Smith, Uehara, Kimbrel, Tazawa is absolute filth.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 Would you have done Hutch for Smith?
BTS Community Moderator Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 Would you have done Hutch for Smith? Without question.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 70 innings of Smith was almost as valuable as 193 innings by Miley last year.....although I do think Miley is a very solid starter.
Frenchsoup Verified Member Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 Koji will be 41 at the start of the season. I doubt he survives this year.

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 Smith is hurt. Hopefully his elbow blows out and they lose a year of him.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 Koji will be 41 at the start of the season. I doubt he survives this year. Life expectancy in Japan is 83.

Miley is actually a very good buy for the Mariners. Over the past 3 years his Hard% has gone down, his xFIP was on a steady decline as well, last year with the Sox aside. His ERA was bad but was far worse than his FIP and xFIP. Moving to a pitchers park like Seattle he'll likely put up a 3 WAR season.

Frenchsoup Verified Member Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 Life expectancy in Japan is 83. He ain't in Japan anymore. He has John Farrell controlling his fate.

Laika Community Moderator Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 CJ Wilson is on the trade block. It's only an interesting note because with his skill level, age, and $20M contract, he should be worth a little bit less than Dickey. So maybe if he gets dealt you can get a feel for Dickey's trade value.
BTS Community Moderator Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Rockies sign Motte and Qualls. Kinds disappointed that Qualls is off the board.
canadiansportsjunkie Verified Member Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Iwakuma was the guy I wish we went after.
BTS Community Moderator Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Iwakuma was the guy I wish we went after. I'm sure a phone call was made. The west coast is a lot closer to Japan. There was probably zero chance of him leaving that area.
BTS Community Moderator Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 2/10 for Motte and 2/6 for Qualls.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 2/10 for Motte and 2/6 for Qualls. Would have liked Qualls on that deal.

The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Updated number is 2/12 for Qualls. A bit more than I expected him to get. Ohhh. That I don't like so much.
BTS Community Moderator Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 There goes a True Cardinal MLBTR comment: "Do you think that that Cards would trade Wong? What about with the Angels for C.J. Wilson and a prospect?"
