King Old-Timey Member Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 http://mlb.nbcsports.com/2015/12/06/report-jonathan-papelbon-files-a-grievance-against-the-nationals/ WEEI’s Rob Bradford reports that Nationals closer Jonathan Papelbon has filed a grievance against the Nationals for failing to pay his salary when the right-hander was suspended for the final four games of the 2015 regular season. Papelbon was involved in a dugout altercation with teammate and outfielder Bryce Harper. Papelbon’s argument is that there was no precedent for a player’s salary to be withheld during a team-issued suspension. A date for a hearing has not yet been set. The Nationals are shopping Papelbon as well as bullpen mate Drew Storen at the Winter Meetings. The club acquired him ahead of the trade deadline in July from the Phillies.

Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 Kuma to the Dodgers - 3 year deal.
THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 (edited) I'm thinking Papelbon probably gets traded for a bucket of balls at this point. He can't have too much value with his contract and his well-known toxic personality. Edited December 7, 2015 by THANOS
Slade Old-Timey Member Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 I wonder if this hurts Papelbon trade value even more or teams will be looking at the Nats to pay some of his salary to rid themselves of him. Either way the Nats get f***ed.

This team has more than enough veteran leadership to deal with him

This team has more than enough veteran leadership to deal with him I would, pending we didn't have to shell out more than a D level prospect. I would probably do Papelbon + salary relief for Matt Dean. Edited December 7, 2015 by THANOS

HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 Rotoworld Baseball Marlins asked Urias and Seager for Fernandez They should ask for more.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 Rotoworld Baseball Marlins asked Urias and Seager for Fernandez One of the few players in baseball for whom it would be reasonable to ask for that package.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 Dodgers get Chappy Wowwwwwwwwww. De Leon has to be one of the prospects, right? Chapman-Jansen is just disgusting on so many levels.
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 I would become a part time dodgers fan if they put him in the rotation
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 I don't think either will be happy that their save opportunities will be reduced, but it's not like agents/GMs are dumb and will accept low ball offers in the offseason. I wonder if they'll sign one.
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 I would become a part time dodgers fan if they put him in the rotation why would they do that?
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 why would they do that? I know they wouldn't but I can hope and wish
BTS Community Moderator Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 Kershaw Iwakuma Anderson Bolsinger Wood Urias De Leon McCarthy Ryu Chapman Jansen Hatcher Baez Garcia That pitching staff is not fair.

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 De Leon not involved Wow, if they get Chapman without giving up JDL -- and obviously Urias and Seager are not involved -- then that would be a huge get.
BTS Community Moderator Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 Wow, if they get Chapman without giving up JDL -- and obviously Urias and Seager are not involved -- then that would be a huge get. I hope Peraza is the centerpiece. He suxxx.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 Ken Rosenthal @Ken_Rosenthal 6m6 minutes ago Players who know Jansen do not believe he would react well if he lost closer’s job with #Dodgers set to acquire Chapman. Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 Grant Holmes and Jose Peraza? I would bet Verdugo's in that package.
