GreekFatAss Verified Member Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 Dont the Red Sox always have hall of fame players on the farm like Lars Anderson, Casey Kelley and Ryan Westmoreland?

That ought to put them over the hump.
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 Boston has one of the best farm systems and great young position players. Even if Price declines they would be the best team for the short future. I mean right now FG has them ahead of the Jays by a small margin. Even if you give a boost for Estrada and Dickey because they outperform their FIP both teams are pretty damn close. So? all the more reason to hope they give out a bunch of bad contracts then. I never said they didn't have a good farm or good young position players OK? Damn Sox fans...

I never said they didn't have a good farm or good young position players OK? Damn Sox fans... So I don't want the Red Sox to sign Price. Even if the contract is bad 5 years from now the present value makes the them better than the Jays. Much rather they have to sign a Cueto to $130 million. Jays probably don't have this good of a chance as they do this year to win the division for the next 3-4 years.
BTS Community Moderator Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 Mariners officially sign Iannetta. Nice addition for them.

I don't really care, if they don't sign Price then it'll be Cueto who's cheaper and still good, or maybe they'll spread it around and end up improving their team even more. Stop worrying so much about the red sox.

Laika Community Moderator Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 But Cano want to go. Tulo for Cano Cano + $150M for Ryan Goins
GD Old-Timey Member Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 How much $$ does it take for Cano to be an asset at this point?
Laika Community Moderator Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 How much $$ does it take for Cano to be an asset at this point? A lot. Even if you're generous and think he still has 16 WARz left and you think a win is worth $10M, Seattle needs to kick in like 32 million to hypothetically move him for nothing.

burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 Wasn't Cano asking for like $200 million from the Yankees and then the Mariners offered $240 out of no where. Like it was 40 million better than any other offer.

I was going to say they would be a contender in the AL West but didn't realize how great that division is now. Might be the best in baseball. Houston probably a 90 win team Texas looks really good with Darvish back LA has Trout all be it the rest of the team sucks Oakland looks like crap but you never know
