Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 This just in - Jackie Bradley Jr. has broken through the AAAA barrier. Not good for Jays fans.
Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 Shut up already Nice join date...
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 This just in - Jackie Bradley Jr. has broken through the AAAA barrier. Not good for Jays fans. Too bad most of the Sox pitching staff still hasn't broken that yet. And it's still possible Bradley cools down.. he's hitting with an unsustainable .387 BABIP. At minimum, he's a .250-.260 hitter in the majors with modest power and elite D.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 Bartolo Colon is NL player of the week putting up 0's Amazing...this guy has been doing it forever and looks like Jabba the Hut on the bump.

Swervin81 Verified Member Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 Lol Nats. Storen has apparently forgotten how to pitch after being demoted from the closer's spot. AKA Jose Valverde disease.
Swervin81 Verified Member Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 Also, for some bizarre, convoluted reason, Matt Williams had Anthony f***ing Rendon BUNTING with a runner on 1st in a 3-1 count in the 9th. The funniest part? The bunt backfired, Duda got the lead runner. And even if the bunt was successful, they'd have just IBB'd Harper and gotten the same result as they did anyways (Escobar GIDP with 1st/2nd, 1 out). Yeah... We may complain about Gibbons, but you could do far worse (Williams, Yost, Matheny, etc)

Bunting to virtually guarantee that Yunel Escobar hits instead of Bryce Harper. Smrt.
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 How is Matheny bad? I haven't caught many Cards games this season for some reason.
Swervin81 Verified Member Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 How is Matheny bad? I haven't caught many Cards games this season for some reason. Lots of baffling decisions. Especially having some sort of strange love for guys like Jon Jay and spoonfeeding him as many AB's and as much PT as possible. Also things like bunting way too much with a runner on 1st (not nearly as bad as Ned Yost in that regard) and really odd contact plays that result in outs on the bases and running out of innings.
admin Site Manager Posted September 9, 2015 Author Posted September 9, 2015 Happ 1.57 ERA in six starts for Pitt. What in the world...
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 But I want to face KC over Houston in the ALDS... There is always the ALCS!
Swervin81 Verified Member Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 Happ 1.57 ERA in six starts for Pitt. What in the world... That 3.1% HR/FB may not last too long. That ERA will shoot back up once some of those flyballs start leaving the yard.

jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 Cueto to the Jays in the offseason. Book it. Maybe.. he's already cost himself a boatload of money due to injury concerns and his terrible performance in KC.
Swervin81 Verified Member Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 Maybe.. he's already cost himself a boatload of money due to injury concerns and his terrible performance in KC. Apparently, those injury concerns are just bruises from Yordano Ventura going full heel and now even throwing fastballs at his own teammates. Okay, I kid. But seriously, no thanks to Cueto. Didn't want him after those injury concerns in Cincinnati came out, and want him even less now. I'd rather buy low on Jeff Samardzija. He's struggling mostly because Don Cooper is being an idiot and having him throw that cutter far more than normal and throwing that 4 seamer far less than normal.
baubau Verified Member Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 Maybe.. he's already cost himself a boatload of money due to injury concerns and his terrible performance in KC. It was more of a joke. I don't want Cueto, never have. I'd much rather go after Zimmerman, Shark, Chen, Iwakuma and such in the offseason.

KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 A big event designed specifically around him and he was getting a massage instead. What a jackass. Well at least they didn't give up much to get him. Oh wait...

thatoneguy Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 lol I did not know that Pearce was THAT good last year. Yeah me neither, he definitely flew under the radar. Nice to know that we aren't in this position like we have been multiple times over the past decade or so.

I was ok with Cueto/Chapman package Cueto has disappointed in the AL. I love Price but would have preferred Hamels. IMO he is a better asset for us with his contract. Price has been better than I could have hoped. We have been in a position to win every one of his starts so far.
P2F Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 lol I did not know that Pearce was THAT good last year. 4.9 WAR in only 383 PAs lol. Career year.
