Royals DFA'd Joe Blanton earlier this week to make room for Cueto. I really wanted the Jays to get him but nope, he's gone to the Pirates just now for cash considerations.

Did that happen yesterday? That little puke did that on purpose so he could go "viral" because he thinks that's cool. Makes me wanna barf.

I found that quite sad :(

Did he actually get traded in the end?

No there was no trade. Rumour is the Mets turned it down after reviewing the medical file on Gomez.

Yes, apparently the Mets were scared off by the hip issue. But the Mets also embarassed themselves by leaving Flores out there when it was said he was traded..

Cardinals just signed a 1 billion dollar/15 year TV deal which will start them at 55 million dollars per season that will increase as the deal goes on, plus a minority stake in the network with the broadcast rights.

Better give them more competitive balance picks, they're clearly hard up for revenue and won't be able to compete on a fair playing field with the larger spending teams.

Pineda scratched from tonight's start

"Forearm tightness"

Was being reported earlier as elbow issues. Might be bad. Nova also reported to be hurting.

Especially given the age of their roster. Would it really be that surprising to see Arod, Beltran and Tex go down at some point?

The Padres and Mets game is literally going into a rain delay with 2 strikes left in the game.

Rain delay was worth it. Norris (5 for 5 with a granny) singles, Upton homers, Padres up but another rain delay.. funny game!

Below replacement level and hitting 77 wRC+. Meh?

Basically the Mariners dumping him. And surprisingly, they're getting a nice return in Ramon Flores and Jose A. Ramirez.. It's also a sign that the team's fed up with their other 2B options in Drew/Ryan/Pirela/Petit(who was DFAd)/Refsnyder/Figueroa. Questionable deal..

Drew is having one of the weirdest seasons ever. Doesn't he like have 13 HR's? Likely can reach 20 though his other overall numbers are awful lol.
