jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 Joba Chamberlain DFAd according to sources. One more move coming, and Drew VerHagen and Jeff Ferrell are being called up for the Jays series.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 Joba Chamberlain DFAd according to sources. Even with all those hits, he wasn't doing THAT badly.
BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 And the extreme pudginess is a thyroid problem, no relation to his frequent visits to Taco Bell! He can double as Saint Nick at team functions, owns the suit already too! Lol

Well, he's been horrid this year and the Tigers badly need fresh arms after that nightmarish Pirates series. And they're going to need them.. especially considering there's no guarantee what they'll get out of Sanchez or Verlander. Only Price is a sure thing.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 Tom Gorzelanny also DFAd as well. And yet, Kyle Ryan keeps his rotation spot even after a horrid performance yesterday.
LTR Verified Member Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 Least clutch Blue Jays this year (by FG's Clutch metric): #1 - Pillar (keep flailing away pro-star) #2 - Martin (doh) #3 - Valencia (no more righties pls) #4 - Smoak (hmph) #5 - Bautista (nothing new here) Most clutch Blue Jays this year: #1 - Edwin (it's the parrot) #2 - Colabello (no surprise) #3 - Donaldson (FYSMC) #4 - Carrera (who woulda thunk it) #5 - Reyes (fangraphs must be malfunctioning) Least clutch hitters this year: #1 - H. Ramirez (ha!) #2 - Semien #3 - Stanton (just deal with it) #4 - Harper (you really had no idea, admit it) #5 - Machado (dipshit) Most clutch hitters this year: #1 - Mauer #2 - Rizzo #3 - Carpenter #4 - Cruz #5 - Hendrick

TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 Hample gave A-Rod's ball back for $150k to Pitch In For Baseball I know earlier in this thread you said he didn't have rich parents. If that were true, then who is this? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stoo_Hample
GD Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 I know earlier in this thread you said he didn't have rich parents. If that were true, then who is this? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stoo_Hample He died in 1984. Hample was born in 1977, lol, so clearly a grandparent and not a parent. Is he rich? Writer/illustrator doesn't seem like the kind of profession your grandkid can finance 6 month trips every year off of. His parents own a book store, I'm pretty sure. Actually that reminds me. Yankees paid millions to charity rather than giving it to A-Rod as that "marketing" agreement thing. Obviously A-Rod agreed to it and s***.
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 He died in 1984. Wut? http://i.gyazo.com/91e2bc7b2f257d0c8875d0d11cfdeb65.png "His youngest son, Zack Hample, is the world record holder for balls caught as a fan at Major League Baseball games.[2]"
GD Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 Oh wow, his dad died when he was young then. Again, on topic, writer/illustrator doesn't scream "funds his trips everywhere." Like I said, all I know is that he's a solid guy and that from what I know, he works himself and doesn't have rich parents.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 Damn, Boston is red hot right now.. they've tied the Astros game again at 7. It's not just Tampa and Toronto having trouble with them.. that Betts/Holt/Bogaerts trio continues to give teams headaches.
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 Oh wow, his dad died when he was young then. Dude, what are you talking about? His dad was an 84 year old playwright that died five years ago, when Zack Hample was 32 years old. Neither of them were young when he died. The father published at least 40 literary works and children books and from the looks of it, he was quite accomplished and made a lot of money. Zack Hample himself is a writer, and having a well-known author for a father couldn't have hurt him there. I don't care about Hample's personality and I don't have an opinion on how he chooses to play with his balls, but his father was rich, and Zack is not an entirely self-made man the way you keep implying he is.

Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 enough about this Hample guy..... who freaking cares!

Yeah, you're right, I misread his date of death. I'm dumn. Self made? What's he made himself into? Lol, he's a guy that catches baseballs. I'm just not sure if his dad made enough money to let his son spend this much money on baseball, I don't think that's unreasonable. Those numbers don't click. And I don't think "having a well known author for a father" takes away from any work he did as an author, if that's what you're implying. http://www.zackhample.com/baseball_collection/watch_with_zack.htm Apparently he also does a thing where he takes people to games. That's a ton of money he charges, so that helps the numbers add up. I'm just trying to figure out the numbers side of things. Like does having a successful author father REALLY make you enough money to finance trips across the country for baseball games? That seems like a stretch.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 Sounds like excuses, plus his dad was Jewish so of course he was rich. Not true. Some Jews are at the other extreme. That's why there's Forrest Hill, and then every other Jewish neighborhood. lol
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 LOL, Trevor Bauer had an at-bat today where he impersonated a different Indians hitter's batting stance on every pitch (Aviles, Rayburn, Kipnis) until he drew a walk.
