It's still better than "Padres are 12-0 when they outscore their opponents". Might as well say the Padres are 12-0 when they win a game. It's probably a typo though, someone forgot to finish the statement i would guess.

He's going to tank hard in the near future, his average will be way under .200.

Tigers are in for a world of hurt. I can't believe he's held on to a .500 BABIP for this long. It's annoying that he's performing this well when we all know he's s*** offensively.

HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 What's the sauce on Castillo? I like Zunino purely as a back-up catcher. JP Arencibia bat but Russell Martin defense. Or a Jeff Mathis.
bendera3 Verified Member Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 http://i.imgur.com/0wPSUHw.jpg I went to school for broadcasting and our school TV station had 1 news program, 2 gameshows, and like 6 sports shows that we filmed every week. Just based on those guys that did the sports shows, sports broadcasters are DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUMB. None of them had insight, it was all the same cliche crap like "put the bat on the ball," "protect the quarterback," etc in their analysis of games. The face that those keys to the game are so stupid does not surprise me.

Or a Jeff Mathis. Zunino has changed a good deal since reaching the majors. When I would watch him at the University of Florida he was a very relaxed hitter and would swing at strikes and take walks when he could. Since he reached the majors he has been swinging widely and missing mainly at breaking balls. In order to fix this he has changed his swing a few times. If he figures it out he can be one heck of a catcher.

jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 Yankees are free falling in the standings, like the Jays. Miller just served up a walk-off HR to Ryan Zimmerman. Yanks are now 4-7 in their last 11, and the Rays have caught them in the standings (who da thunk it?)
BlueJayWay Verified Member Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 Yeah, Yankees led 6-2 but get walked off in extras. Somehow the Jays are 2-8 in last ten games and still sit only 4.5 out. It's been a long time since the division has been this forgiving.

It's been a long time since the division has been this forgiving. People who keep saying "were only 4-5 out" only 1.5 months into the season sound like Homers/Wilners. Being 4.5 out already is pretty bad. Esp when you're a team with the shakiest pitching in baseball.

Being 4.5 out already is pretty bad. Esp when you're a team with the shakiest pitching in baseball. Of course, the East is already shaky with a fragile Yankees squad (who as I just posted, lost Ellsbury for 2-3 weeks minimum, depending on the severity of his knee injury) and a Rays team playing way over its head and unlikely to keep up this pace, especially with the losses of Cobb and Smyly for the season (though Smyly might return), and Moore still a ways away and questionable to be effective post TJS. And of course we have no idea on Boston and Baltimore..

Praxis Verified Member Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 Did a bit of a double take on this one, but the starting pitcher tonight for Cleveland after going 4-0 with a 1.36 ERA in AAA Columbus is none other than Shawn Marcum! I can't remember, didn't he fall out with somebody in the Blue Jays organization before he was traded?
