Maine Jays Verified Member Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 O's fans want a compensation pick for tampering. And I want Kate Upton naked in my bed on one side and Chrissy McKenney (spelling?) on the other.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 It's funny that almost all the leaks and sources I've seen are ones that primarily cover the O's and associated area teams. I don't know if there was any tampering or not, but the O's organization seems to be rather porous. Most of any damage caused was probably their own doing.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 How do you know? IIRC the backstory posted about 10 pages back said they just contacted him behind the org's back. They should actually be happy. DD is so much better than the replacement GMs. The question isn't about skill; rather, they're now stuck with a GM who would rather be here on a 4 year contract.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 O's fans want a compensation pick for tampering. Since there was no deal, the Jays don't owe anything to the Orioles. Perhaps the Orioles fans should be more focused on criticizing their cheap-a** ownership who has failed to upgrade the roster while the rest of the AL East has improved(even Machado and Wieters aren't going to help this team.) They're basically praying Davis rebounds and Pearce doesn't turn into a pumpkin.. plus managing without a decent left-handed OF.. or any speed on the roster.
Orioles Verified Member Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 Eduardo A. Encina @EddieInTheYard 45s46 seconds ago Told this wouldn't be the first time Jays have pulled away from compensation talks, but belief is O's ownership not budging from demands. Eduardo A. Encina @EddieInTheYard 50s50 seconds ago Can confirm Hoffman & Pentacost (Both 1st-rounders by #Jays in '14) were 2 players #Orioles discussed. Total of 5-6 names were discussed.
Orioles Verified Member Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 Roch Kubatko @masnRoch 24s25 seconds ago Told latest report has Jays ending negotiations for Duquette, an Os official said "That's what, the 4th time they've said that?"
Ziggyy108 Verified Member Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 Dan Duquette would have made a huge mistake allowing the Jays to give up Hoffman for him. He would have come here and been instantly hated from the get go.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 I think Baltimore is the world wide leader in cuckolds
TheHurl Site Manager Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 And I want Kate Upton naked in my bed on one side and Chrissy McKenney (spelling?) on the other. Give it another year and maybe the Tigers will negotiate that for you. Of course you have to take on the last 5 years of Verlander's contract.
Ehjays Verified Member Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 If some team wanted Beeston for a top 10 draft pick with as much promise as Hoffman I would do that deal in a second. I am glad this is over Sometimes the best move is no move at all......and it rings true in this case today.

Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 I'm actually amazed at what Ed Rogers accomplished. He simultaneously pissed off two separate fan bases without actually accomplishing anything.

Lets be honest, most of the people on this board would probably give them Beeston for free, and celebrate for a week afterwards.

Plus it puts our Maddon tampering case into perspective.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 If you really think this is over i feel sorry for you. He was talking about the dealing for DD part. I don't think anybody here cares about the possible tampering charges. We'll take the fine and move on.

He asked the White Sox on Williams, CEO would have to be total imbecile to approach DD without permission first.

The Orioles are not getting top prospects in exchange for a Suit. We'll gladly pay the fine and watch your organization try to deal with the aftermath. It's gonna be hilarious.

Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 Alright mister I agree with him, I doubt this is over. I hope Davidi's right(quite possible, being employed by the owners), but there's still a lot of stink in the air, unless Laurence told Rogers to GTFO. Man, so embarrassing.

IBleedOrange Verified Member Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 Its apparent the Orioles never had any intention of letting Duquette go.

Since it is not known who called Williams. How is that tampering...White Sox went public Jays had asked and were denied because of timing. Could have been member of media or anybody looking for a story who called Williams/Duquette.

saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 Jays ownership has egg all over their face. There's only one solution to all of this. Deflect all the attention off themselves by putting the money out there and signing James Shields. Do it!
IBleedOrange Verified Member Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 Difficult for the O's to stand in the way, huh. Kenny boy sure is a reliable journalist.
